I have a new SA58 coming in with NP3 coated internals/controls.
Is that treatment really as good as they say? I have a hard time picturing being able to just wipe the guts off with a dry cloth after a fair amount of shooting.

Usually if you buy on gunbroker you get a three day unfired inspection period. Fingerfuck the hell out of it and decide just dont shoot it. Alternatively lgs in my area will let you rent and shoot any used guns they have for sale in their range to help you decide to buy it. They had a wall full of Hk rifles once, some in 5.56/.223 even. You loose about 120fps.
There are 20" barrels for the SCAR that are supposedly coming out. Some (I mean like 8) were brought into the US from some european and sold on the auction sites for big bucks. The mk20 is also going to be released this year supposedly, it was supposed to be released last year though too.

I don't understand why someone would buy a scar. I have about 20k in guns and about 5k in reloading and ammunition. Why someone would dump 5k into one rifle and optic setup seems like a waste. I have had botique tier rifles and ended up ditching them for more common rifles. They way I look at it is that the FAL and PTR would be in the same price range as a scar if they weren't mass produced for military. Price is relative to production so at this point the scar is only expensive because it is uncommon. Sure it is reliable and accurate which I would expect from any modern new rifle that is trying to become the next mass produced military rifle but civilian ownership is years away from being feasible. I'll get a scar when I don't have to pay the special snowflake tax.
My opinion on optics is that there are diminishing returns past the $1000 price point. Again, I have owned high end optics and while they have their place they aren't really worth it in my opinion.
The thing that annoyed me is being called poor. Not for the reason that you probably think though. I'm annoyed because the eletist pricks alienate everyone else to justify their own purchases. As a community gun owners need to welcome the masses in order to keep legislative strength and continue to enjoy their hobbies.

I just tossed in the numbers for a not too hot load of 168gr bergers and the current environmental data for my location, at 4500ft the Speed of sound is about 1060ft/s. I doubt it would be effective at those ranges but it would/could work.

It'd take less effort, per person, to just hit report than it would for the banned person to bother circumventing it or keep getting banned every 3 days. Reporting takes like 3 seconds.
You can also filter, but I like to give the benefit of the doubt, I think the filtered might end up making quality posts. So I just report what is too much and don't talk about it ITT, attention is all they want and filtering/reporting doesn't give them that. Saging these sorts of talks helps too, OT discussions shouldn't bump threads (and be seen on the first page).

This whole board could benefit from a few compulsive posters to just follow the rules, yes. But there are alot of plain OT threads, /pol/-tier and /v/idya threads. Just report it as you see it. Alot of people do say "one report doesn't matter" and then we have alot of stuff go unreported that'd be gone by now if it had been reported. It's like people who say "one votes doesn't matter." We all need to stop complaining in our posts and just uses the report button. It really works.
