What's some good cold weather gear?

Are there good camo patterns for the dry browns of late fall to late winter? Would the same patterns do well enough in snow or would you need specifically snow camo to not stand out?

How well do fleck parkas do with their liners in?
The liners don't have hoods so I'd like to have something better for making my head warm other than wearing a black Russian Ushanka underneath my hood.

How well do Alpenflage parkas and pants do as far as insulation goes? Do they need liners too?
Also how long are the legs on the Swiss alpenflage pants? Worried about them not being long enough for my spindly legs.

Also anyone make good pants liners, or gloves/mittens?

Thinking I'm going to be going for something new and commercial for winter boots instead of milsurp though.

Widely available stuff is going to be Flecktarn parkas. They are great with their liners, if you're just sitting around you can just wear the liner without the parka for warmth and comfyness. For your head you could wear a beanie of some sort. There are Flecktarn cold weather caps that have ear folds that come down if you want to go full Flecktarn (there are OD ones if you're into that stuff.

...there are also winter Flecktarn gloves.

I really like the pattern and the style, but it's just cut so damn long. But yeah it's clearly meant to fit over all the gear including a rucksack.

The great thing about this surplus, is that it is dirt cheap and built well. The same can not be said about Rothco.

Ive got a EE-8 radio phone from my last visit to warehouse Ivan. He said it doesn't work but I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them. I want to know if it's likely able to be fixed up and of so, what the capabilities of it are. I'm guessing it'll only work with another one of the same model. But it would still be pretty cool to be able to talk to a friend nearby that also has one. Pic s from google but I'll post one of the one I've got later when i get home from work.

So I bought a pair of Swiss military mountain boots. They're pretty comfortable and in pretty good shape for only $20. Anyway, what's all this green crud you sometimes find on milsurp?
>>
>>28520979
The capability of that is to put in some D cell batteries and string wire to another one and turn the crank. You can talk to someone as far away as the wire is.
>>

I'm gonna assume you mean this one.

It's not actually experimental, it was issue for a few years.

Anyway, assuming you mean the Dutch seller, yes those are legit. There were only 3 things made in Amoeba:
-Zeltbahn
-Hood/Carrier
-Pole/Peg/Line case

All other things like this smock and some of the M43s/helmet covers you might see are either field made or custom things made by tailors out of zelts.

Speaking of which, that guy that keeps cutting up Austrian zelts and making shit out of them is pissing me off. Those Austrian zeltbahns are drying up fast, and I know he's cut up at least 10 of them.

It's not. There's some guy that's been listing them for a few months on eBay now.

Most of these shitheads come from liberal shitholes so it's no surprise they have superiority complexes and authoritarian streaks.

I think it's a work/barracks uniform and maybe parades too. From all of the pictures I can find there is not anyone using it while in the field. I originally thought it was the summer uniform that they would wear with webbing, but I'm quite sure I'm wrong there.

I can't even find pics of it in use, I wasn't sure. I couldn't find any pre-1990 or post 70's webbing either so I wasn't sure of its purpose.
Allegedly there's a two piece motorcycle uniform too, never seen it.

Is it weird that I measured my foot for a new pair of boots and 10" = Size 8 US but all my Jogging and basketball shoes are Size 11 US and fit pretty Comfy? Would I be a fool for buying these without being certain of my actual shoe size?

Chart I used for reference
