I really liked Remote Control as well. Great upbeat song, Rin and Len had some sweet moves, and the words on the screen really helped hype it up. It got everyone pumped up, so much fun.
I feel like that's how most of the songs should be, it feels as if that song had the most effort put into it.

My sister the normie liked the ending songs and encore the best, but possibly because it took a little while for her to get into it. I think she liked Tell Your World and Miku the most. I'll ask her again tomorrow morning.

>>15313765
This is how you do a poster. It may not be cute, but it actually incorporates the culture of the area into it. The Houston one was good at that too. But oh man the atrocity of the NYC poster, Jesus. What a shame. Did anyone get a Houston poster? I want it.

I'm just an aspiring game developer, but I've always dreamt of a stage that can be enjoyed from any part of the world. The visuals, the sounds, they're second to none - It's a world that explodes in color and makes you want to sing with them.

But unfortunately, I don't think our infrastructure is ready for that kind of thing. I also wonder whether people would enjoy it in the first place? A kind of online VR (or as tech progresses, something more personal) concert?

fatmanP - Silent Noise
ヤヅキ - novel music / サスライダー / Little Dreamer / 孤独のおとぎ姫
ゆよゆっぺ - Solitude Freak / For a sick boy / Planetary suicide
kvold (やひろ) - ex machina / エレクトキタニカ。
無力P - Eschatology / Your Pianist / Unfinished Eden / Resonance
otetsu - Seed / CORE / UNDER / LENS (any otetsu album really, just pick them all)
あルカP (M@SATOSHI) - 桜色D-i-s-k (all his "[insertcolor]色D-i-s-k" are worth checking out)
やみくろ - 心音譜 / 劣等感情回顧録 / 添う、愛を。
そそそ (津久井箇人) - World Breakout
il cremonese - A peaceful death
AVTechNO! - 17K -Disorder (and others)

VOCALOUD 00
VOCALOUD 01 - Breaking of the Emotion -
EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Megurhythm (entry-level album)

This isn't meant to be a particular order, I just typed them as they naturally came to mind.

>to get for the ultimate Luka experience?
Albums listed there are just my taste though, to get the ultimate Luka experience you'll have to dig and experience more and more artists / albums. There are thousands of great songs over there that aren't on any particular albums too.

Yes, VR is absolutely exploding right now. I'm actually waiting at the airport right now and I'm ready to get home and go back into Tilt Brush so I can work on my Miku some more.
>>
>>15315749
I didn't see any of the nicer color changing glowsticks, I would've loved to get one. I didn't see the EPs for sale either.

Shirts were anywhere from 20 through 45 if I remember correctly? The hoodie was 60 I'm pretty sure.
>>
>>15315786
thanks, anon
>>
>>15315749
i'm pretty sure the official glow sticks weren't for sale. they only made a limited number of them, and they were part of the crowdfunding project. someone said that they had a few leftovers for sale in Seattle but they sold out and weren't at any of the other cities.
>>
I'm guessing the reason why people thought their glow sticks were dimmer is due to the official glow sticks that stayed bright forever. Wish I had one
>>
>>15316283
The official LED glowsticks were for VIPs only. That's how you could tell them apart. That's also why they didn't sell them seperately.
>>
>>15316656
They were not. Anyone who supported their crowd funding campaign could have got one. You didn't have to buy a VIP ticket, and conversely having a VIP ticket didn't get you one.
>>
I finally talked to some people who saw the show on Saturday. They said they were accidently given tickets for the 1pm show but the night crew let them in after they figured out there was a mixup.

>>15316739
I didn't know about the campaign but that explains why so many people had them. I was VIP but my bag just had the gumi glowstick.
>>
>>15313727
what happened that made vocaloid popular enough to demand concerts in the west?

despite what i would have imagined they aren't full of greasy neck beards but average normal fags
i stay away from that shit like the plague but i would love to go see miku in japan
>>
>>15316869
Japan's concerts are full of normies too.
>>
>>15316883
yes but they are japanese normies so that doesn't concern me, when you take something straight out of japan and western normal fags are all dude japan so weird lmao about it i get triggered

it's like people aren't happy unless they are shitting up other peoples interests
>>
>>15316896
>>15316869
You sound like a shitposter. Stop
>>
>>15316869
On one hand, having a good mix of normies is great for the overall audience experience because they know how to act at a good show, as opposed to the autists who watch the show silently and motionless save for synchronized glowstick choreography. But then on the other hand, they're not (as) familiar with the music and do stupid shit like cheer in the middle of Ten Thousand Stars because they think it's over, or not woo Meiko's lewd dance moves.
>>
>>15317009
> having a good mix of normies is great for the overall audience experience

no, just fucking no
they have their own fucking shit, let them go to a football game and netflix game of shit with their girlfriends

all i ask is that they not shit up vocaloids. it's bad enough how anime has been invaded the last decade
>>
>>15317033
What they do and how they act outside of the concert is irrelevant, strictly speaking in terms of the show, a normie-free concert would be much more boring for both the audience and the band, which is the most important thing, really.
>>
>>15317033
I like football and anime.

Deal with it nrd.
>>
>>15317033
>people are actually responding to this badly written bait
>he thinks normies will write vocaloid music/ create fanart.

I can't wait for Vocaloid to be used in pop songs just so we can get rid of the edgy shit that western "producers" are making now. It will probably be another 30 years until that happens, but I'll be patient.
>>
>>15317214
They might be edgy, but circus has some pretty good songs. Not every vocaloid song has to be about sharing the world.

fuckin' pointless subculture wars

I was there at Miku Expo and the people around me seemed like Vocaloid/Miku fans, albeit from various walks of life and levels of involvement. This shit seems to have started from some sour grapes guy who didn't even go.
>>
>>15317395
>from various walks of life and levels of involvement
The line for Miku Expo is one of the most diverse places on the planet. Boys and girls, young and old, from every race, nationality, and political affiliation. I saw this elderly man, like at least 65, pushing an equally old lady in a wheelchair through the people lined up on the sidewalk in Dallas. I first I figured they were just going through town and we all happened to be on the sidewalk they normally go down, but then sure enough, the went into The Bomb Factory, and then they came out with her lap filled with a few shirts and a backup, and she was wearing a hat. I had so many questions, like, "How?" and "Why?"
>>
>>15317281
>circus
>good songs

Pick one, also

>implying that if songs can't be edgy, they MUST be about sharing the world
>forgetting that other themes exist and teenager "producers" don't need to limit themselves on edge

>>
>>15318497
You could definitely tell a difference in the band's performance with a good crowd vs a lame one. I'm sure it probably sounded the same either way, but I liked seeing the 39s have fun. MEG.ME was crazy in Dallas.
>>
>>15318539
I haven't really been part of a "lame" crowd for comparison, but the band members do feed off the crowd's energy. Moreover, the energy of the crowd is self-reinforcing, so when I cheer I'm doing it as much to create that "hype" in the people around me as for the band.
>>
>>15316536
No, chemical based glow sticks only stay ultra bright for about one hour, then they're fairly bright for another hour or two, then they fade slowly in the next 6 hours or so.

Nice, I was the Anon that took my sis, would have been cool to see that during my stay. They loved the show a lot.

>>15317395
>>15317440
I 100% experienced this at the Houston and NYC shows, and other events. I remember this one middle eastern looking dude in a very nice, well fit 3 piece suit at the preparty. I saw hoodrats in Houston as well as a few entire families. I saw males dressing as females and vice versa. Cute girls that are in shape and actually enjoying the music and having a good time.

The environment just feels very friendly, everyone has a common ground and it transcends cliques and groups.

I own a PSP and the original three games, and was thinking about buying a vita and the the games on it, which after X comes out for USA would be like, ~$250 total. Instead of getting that, would it be better to get a PS4 and future tone? I'm assuming it'll have every song from all the games. I think I could get about $100 if I sold the psp and game bundle, plus the $250 I would've spent on a vita, would almost pay for the ps4/FT combo.
My only reservation is that my Japanese is like, on level with a 4 year old, which would make navigating the menus pretty difficult
>>
>>15320471
Future Tone would get you everything previous to X, then X PS4 is coming out in August iirc. The Japanese level required for Project Diva games is super low.

PS4's still kind of lacking in Japanese games compared to the Vita, beyond Project Diva, and the Vita's portability is really nice if you just want to get a few songs in whenever.

Honestly, I'd say try and get both eventually.
>>
>>15320471
Future Tone has every song that the Arcade Cabinet has, so most of the songs from the home games.

I think you're confusing Crypton with Miku. Crypton probably won't give a shit as long as you still bought merch, and didn't throw up or pass out on the premises. Miku on the other hand would be disappointed that you felt you had to be tripping balls to enjoy her concert, like it was some kinda shitty rave.
>>
>>15323053
>tripping balls
>MDMA

At first I wasn't sure why everyone ITT is so hostile toward you, but I think I'm beginning to understand.
>>
>>15323085
he's not wrong, though
>>
>>15323053
Yes, Crypton gets the profits as Miku is not a real being, I think you understand what I meant though, I wanted to show support in terms of dollars spent so that they understand that there is a market and desire for Miku in the West so that they hopefully bring her back.

Also I won't get too into the drug discussion but I was being less obnoxious than most of the people there, I can handle myself. Also I was certainly not tripping balls. If anything the Digital Stars event is much more like rave like than the real shows, they were all great in their own regards though.

I get drunk every night but there's a big difference between alcohol and drugs. Alcohol is humanity's friend. The difference between you and other anons is that we're not brodacious Chadbots that have to brag about doing drugs or shit with literally every single post we make. If you look back, you've brought the same thing up like 2 or 3 times each thread for the past couple threads. It just comes off as this desperate cry for attention "like yeah i was totally doing illegal drugs but it's not big deal or anything even though i feel the need to mention at least once or twice a day did i mention i do drugs?" You're like that guy who has to start every sentence off with "My girlfriend and I..." and except it's even lamer

>>

she had to be maybe between 13-16.
I didn't get a look at her face but when she was upfront for merch, she just went off listing things off the bat, no hesitation at all for the poster. I physically groaned when I saw it and more when I saw her point to it and say "that poster"
>>
>>15323138
Alcohol is a drug though. Drug use has been a part of many cultures, some of them ancient. I rarely do hard drugs, usually about once or twice a year but I'll admit to drinking almost every night and smoking just as often. I mentioned it a few times since it can be a very profound experience in the right setting. This one just happened to be very touching to me as it was my first Miku concert and now I feel very invested.

>>15323187
I'd say they're all but the last thing, aren't the fans entirely responsible for the production of their music? I don't know that much about the music industry, but you may be thinking of a label.
>>
>>15323227
>Alcohol is a drug though
Yeah, if you want to get all semantical, coffee and chocolate are "drugs" too, but you know exactly what is meant by "drug" within the context of this conversation.
>>
>>15323227
I'd say it sounds like you're in serious need of help, for Miku's sake.

As for the studio/label thing, Crypton is also Miku's recording label under the name of KARENT (http://vocaloid.wikia.com/wiki/KARENT), but I'd say them recording and compiling the soundbanks for her also makes them a recording studio. The fans are purely songwriters/recording artists.
>>

I guess you mean "drugs that are arbitrarily distinguished by being illegal."

I wouldn't say it's off-topic at all, since we're discussing the proper way to conduct oneself at a Miku concert. A little bit of alcohol is fine, but getting drunk isn't. That's my point: if you show up under the influence of a mind-altering substance, you don't deserve to be there, and you bring shame down upon the heads of all Miku's fans.
>>
>>15323319
nonsense. music and drugs go together like hugs and kisses. if you can handle your drugs (whether that is alcohol, mdma or any other substance) then have at it. don't overdose or lose your mind, obviously. be responsible.

as long as you having a good time does not impede on others having a good time, then there is no problem what-so-ever. you are not being disrespectful to any artist by having fun.

the funny thing is that the fucktards holding their phones up for the an entire concert are having a greater negative effect on the show than the people who are on both legal and illegal substances.
>>
>>15323380
>music and drugs go together like hugs and kisses
I can't understand this normie meme. It's like the whole "rape in Japan is like saying hello" shtick. It's superficially funny, but completely wrong, and when taken too seriously, an insult to the subject matter.
>>
>>15323390
that normie meme is about looking for any excuse to go to excess and get plastered.

if you're into music, you shouldn't have to get wasted to enjoy it. getting a little drunk/high to loosen up is understandable, but if you're completely out of it, you're more likely to be a problem/liability at an event.
>>
>>15323390
i just don't think it is right to cast judgment on people for wanting to have a good time.

you straight up said that people who do something you don't like "don't deserve" to be at a concert as much as you do.

>i just don't think it is right to cast judgment on people for wanting to have a good time.
Oh God, not this shit again.

That's not what I'm judging you for. I'm judging for the way you use a finite resource. In this case, Miku tickets. If you have to use drugs to enjoy yourself, then you're clearly not deriving the maximum benefit from your ticket, and in which case there is almost certainly another Miku fan who was unable to attend the concert who not only would have more thoroughly enjoyed the experience, but would have been less likely to cause problems, direct or indirect, for the other concertgoers.

You see, shit like this is why I always kept an arm's length away from the EDM scene, because I didn't want to associate with normie scum hopped up on a methamphetamine derivative. With Miku I felt I finally found an electronic dance scene that I wouldn't have to play the three monkeys game to be in with.

People like you I hope will be unceremoniously removed by security and not allowed to attend a Miku concert ever again.

no one who does drugs while doing an activity _needs_ drugs to enjoy the activity, dumbass. It's another thing you do that makes it _more_ enjoyable.

that's like saying, "if you need popcorn just to enjoy a movie, you must not be a real movie fan"

I don't like a lot of the kinds of people who do ecstasy at shows, but watching Miku while high on anything sounds pretty wonderful

>>

jeez, when everyone was picking on you i felt bad for you... but you sound like a judgmental jerk right now.

i don't even do drugs like that, but i acknowledge that if someone can derive pleasure from doing something that they have the total right to it... so long as it doesn't prevent someone else from doing what they themselves find pleasurable.

if someone shows up drunk and pukes on you, or shows up high on some drug and has a seizure right next to you... then fuck them. those types of people surely don't deserve to be there, because they are ruining the experience for others. but if them being high, or doing anything else has absolutely no affect on you then why should you care?

>>15323846
thats not what red beret guy is talking about though. he is saying that if you don't enjoy miku the same way he does, you are doing it wrong.
>>
>>15323893
>thats not what red beret guy is talking about though. he is saying that if you don't enjoy miku the same way he does, you are doing it wrong.

which is ridiculous, of course. my issue is with people who become a liability or problem to others, which is very easy to be when you're not there mentally.
>>
>>15323839
if the end of your meme is "...but they help you run better" then that's a strawman of my argument. Drugs don't "help you enjoy a show better", but they can add to the enjoyment of the show.

like I said, I dislike some types of people who do drugs at shows. but if they're not bothering you directly, it seems like you'd have to be fixated on some vague notion of aesthetic "purity" in your dancing animu girl hobby, as evinced by you accusing me of being a trashy vape smoker. (for the record, I've never done hallucinogens either)

>but you sound like a judgmental jerk right now
Despite what tumblr might tell you, having a standard for other people's behavior is not "being judgmental", especially when you have to interact with them. If someone wants to get high in their own house, or somewhere where it's expected like a rave or Burning Man, then I don't fucking care.

>if someone shows up drunk and pukes on you, or shows up high on some drug and has a seizure right next to you... then fuck them
By the time something like that happens, it's already too late. Someone else's night has been ruined, possibly a lot of someone elses'. You have no more a right to do something that increases the risk of that happening than you have a right to drive recklessly on the public roads, regardless of if someone gets hurt or not.

Meanwhile, bringing drugs into a Miku concert is like bringing /pol/-tier shit into the other boards. It poisons the atmosphere, lowers the quality of interaction, taints the purity of the event, and in general increases the chance of everything ending in tears. Just one person coming baked may not have an effect, but the more people show up under the influence, the greater the risk of something really bad happening. Then before you know it, we'll have people dealing at the concert, and then the whole thing will get raided by the DEA. That's what drugs did to the rave scene, and it'll be a cold day in Hell before I sit by and say nothing as that happens to Miku.
>>

>getting this upset enough to reply to strangers about doing drugs because "muh personal freedom"
>"b-besides, I could have gone sober if I wanted to! I'm not addicted!"

Say what you will, if you did drugs during this tour, next time Miku comes to town you better be sober. Otherwise you're just as bad as those EDM heads who do drugs during shows, "but aren't addicted but they can stop anytime." "I know my limits, I'll be f-fine."

Thank you for the links! I'm sorry, I was definitely a bit vague. "underground" and "experimental" aren't really very specific identifiers, but I'm glad to say that, though it obviously would be a bit lengthy to listen to all your links right now, I listened to a bit of all of them and I can confirm this stuff definitely fits into what I was looking for. A bit less "noisy" than what I was expecting maybe, but it's really interesting stuff. I'm very excited to really delve into them.

I have to admit, embarrassingly enough I don't know how to actually read kanji and stuff, but I did remember the "beat making by MSS" phrase that appears in English in the one song I posted, so thank you for the bandcamp link also.

As an aside, I just listened to this song and wow:

But how are you emotionally attached if not romantically?
If it's like father-daughter, then there is daughteru term. If it's like goddess then it might be just favorite character. Either way these things are way less serious than waifu and it requires an actual honest romantic love.

And the winner for the best posters are Mexico City and Monterrey.

Seattle gets runner up.

I've fallen in love with Miku, but not in a way where I would ever want to date, marry, or live with her. To me, I guess that sort of relationship is too earthly and carries too much tension.

It's really hard to describe, but the feeling is more like a desire to eternally enshrine and bask in her cuteness, and to carry it inside myself as well. I guess that sounds like a "Goddess" relationship more than anything, but it would be too reductive to just say she's my favorite character.

I know for a fact some of you /jp/sies feel the same way about some of the 2hus.

If she ever become someone you recognize as your partner and you'll know you want to be with her for the rest of your life with no interest for other 2D or 3D girl, then it means she is the one.

Where do you think you are?
At least we don't spam lewd Len pics.

Just not Kaito. That's gay

Asking as someone who doesn't actively follow Vocaloid stuff but loves Anamanaguchi, what'd you guys think of their song?
>>
>>15328669
It was really cute live. The non-live version has a weird ending, but it doesn't ruin the song for me. I like it fairly well.
>>
>>15328727
The videos I've seen of the expo have the same weird ending too.
>>
>>15328669
it's nice. the only problem I have with the rap section is the lyrics aren't too great

it had the same ending in new york. it nearly ruins the whole track, in my opinion. if they ended the concert on that song... it would have left a very bad taste in my mouth.

when ever i listen to the EP, i skip over that part of the song.

Mexifag here, I really don't like this one, mexicano illustrators turn sugarskull girls a dime a dozen thing and it ends ruined, at least Mexico one is not so meme'd "ancient aztec ghlyph"

>>15329280
Just be glad it's not complete and total garbage. I still think it sucks but at least it's drawn well and in a pretty good style. Monterrey and Seattle are the only two that don't look like $5 Deviantart commissions.

I knew about them before the expo and thought they were pretty good. Not a fan of their miku song though, chorus kind of bugs me.

As someones who's biggest exposure to these kind of designs is Grim Fandango, I think the poster is pretty great.

Nah, Crypton would have paid the bribe. The cartels probably hijacked the shipment thinking there were drugs hidden in there.

Mexico is really getting shit on but they deserve it honestly because why the hell should they get 5 shows?
>>
>>15330806
Why does America get 10? Simple: they get as many as are needed to serve the fanbase.

Also, part of the reason there were four shows scheduled for Mexico City was because the venue they got was pitifully small. Notice how early it sold out?
