How do you guys feel about h.265? I'm currently trying my hand at screencapping MIAD-810 in 1080p with my Blackmagic Intensity 4K Pro. It's still going so I can't check yet to make sure, but it looks smoother than on the regular R Player in the capture window.
Would probably start encoding right when it finishes, but wanted to ask beforehand. Would anybody even use h.265? It would certainly cut down on filesize, and since I own TMPGEnc 6 anyway, it would be a waste using h.264.

Personally haven't seen any for MIAD-810, but I think I know which ones you mean. Usually encoded with something called "ShanaaEncoder" or something and stuttering more than an abused child, while still being three times as large as any normal HD encode.
I doubt my file will end up anywhere near that large. The good thing about my method is that my card captures uncompressed. This means that the original file is currently shooting for about 1 TB in size, but it gives me lots of room to work on an encode and play with settings, mostly seeing what CRF is going to look acceptable. But I think h265 is fine since hardware decoding support is getting better, as long you have time to do encoding.

Doesn't tell me much, but looks like a decent bitrate considering the original rate at 1080p. Don't like that the guy capped at 60 fps though. Mine is capped at 29.97 fps, since that's the original framerate. Other than that, nothing out of the norm.
