It's almost halfway through February, how are those averages?
>>14753821
how do i get the free pointerinos for JRM today
>>14753874
You have to complete a quest.
>>14753874
>JRM
Someone mentioned MJnet in a previous thread, and how you can have private hanchan matches for free, so that motivated me to give it a try. I'll list some thoughts for anyone else who is interested in it.
1) The presentation is really nice. The tiles look great. Tiles get dealt by a hand and can end up a bit uneven on the table, the hand may straighten the pond, etc. There are flashy effects when someone wins a hand.
2) Play wise, there's a few convenient features, like having a shanten count in the lower right. When you reach tenpai, it shows you what your wait will be, similar to JRM. The game also gives you a lot of time to think if you need it.
3) There's customizable avatars and voices. That's always a plus in my book.
4) Is it free? Tonpussen, 3p, and private matches are. You earn free things via daily login, which can include free play tickets for ranked mode or one of the special tournaments. You can also earn 200 free chips by having a net score of +50 or more over 8 free mode matches, up to twice per month. (60 chips is the fee for non-free tables). If you get 1st in one of these modes, you don't have to pay. You also get a free 'gacha' once per day, which pops out bingo cards mostly.
5) Bingo cards are basically like quests in JRM, you get chips/items by completing them, but they're a lot easier. You can also junk them for medals to buy shop items. You can only complete them in ranked mode, but they appear much less demanding than a JRM quest.
Overall, I think it's worth checking out.
>>14754585
I'd rather play this than JRM. If you guys ever have a room up I'll join.
I've started my mahjong client. Code will be posted when it's somewhat usable.
>>14754938
Good luck. I hope you take the CG yakuman dragon suggestion to heart.
>>14754606
Make it so it has open riichi and noten riichi.
>>14754954
This. Also don't let it show your waits when you're in tenpai. That's fucking lazy on the part of the player
>>14754938
Make it so that the client automatically quits once the user chombos.
See this. What do?
>>14755143

>>14754585
Well, now gonna need instruction on registering an ID.
https://iway.isao.net/sega/mail_in.cgi?product_name=mjm
>>14755233
You don't need to register a SEGA ID. If you download the PC version, it will automatically generate a username and password for you. You then choose your nickname.
Just make sure you write that ID and password down or take a screenshot of it.
But if you want to register for a SEGA ID anyway, here's a guide I found. It's for a different game but I think the fields are the same.
http://arks-layer.com/signup.php
>>14755290
Well, time to make a walk through. Because if we want people to play, well, gonna have to make a path for them to get there.
From this screen, I click on that "pencil" looking icon in the bottom left. There, I see the MJM ID with a given password.
>>14754938
If you want something that stands out, allow some house rules like open Riichi and pareenchan
>>14755382
From that pencil icon, it's here. After clicking the login button...
>>14755393
There's this.
>>14755382
>>14755393
Slow down, this is too complicated!
>>14755406
That would be the nickname entry screen. I can make some visual guide images for the interface/etc if it'd help.
>>14755408
Yea, it's confusing as fuck.
>>14755425
Oh, I see. Type the Nickname into that box.
After the avatar choices, there's this stuff.
So who's gonna make a room so we can play free hanchan?
>>14755447
That's the region select. Go to その他 if you want to be outed as a filthy pig gaijin and get the bad RNG seeds.
>>14755447
Region selection. I don't think that really affects anything (maybe matchmaking for connection quality purposes?), so I just default to Tohoku (東北).
There's an Android app too, and it lets you play against people on the PC client, but you need to be in Japan to get it.
>>14755494
Or you can use QooApp. I'll give it a shot myself and see if I can get hooked up.
>>14755494
You can just use Bluestacks and download the apk, it's pretty easy to find.
>>14755449
Room is JayPee (case is sensitive)
no pass
>>14755517
>2:4
Get in here.
>>14755449
So now the next question. Where to find the custom rooms?
>>14755517
For help getting in, you get to the private game screen by clicking the button that says プライベート戦, and on the next screen, you press the second (green button) and enter the room name.
3:4
Also if the lobby isn't filled after like 5 minutes of waiting, it kicks you automatically, but the lobby remains open and you can just rejoin
Whoa this is cool.
>>14755582
Yea, I've played the AI a bunch. But now against peoples. It's like having a new toy.
>>14755589
Everything is so flashy. It's a nice change of pace from Tenhou.
Thank you for the game. I'm going to go ahead and put together some guide images while I have free time.
Good game lads. It's 3/4 again.
>>14755751
While playing, I realized. This may be the closest thing to real tiles for some people.
>>14755792
That feeling when no one plays riichi mahjong where you live.
>>14755803
I presume this is a common feeling
I wish my friends had the attention span to learn this game, then I'd have no problem
So, how do you play these people?
http://www.sega-mj.com/mj5evo/pro/index.html
>>14755835
I think you get tickets. Can't remember if you can get them as part of the log in bonus or if you have to pay for them.
Oh hey, turns out I already had Sega MJ installed on this computer. Anyone still playing?
>>14755874

At 3:4 again.
Are the turns a little too fast for anyone else or am I just slow? Especially as the dealer, I hardly have time to look at my hand before the timer starts running.
>>14756017

Good games. Did I miss the next one or did everyone leave?
>>14756216
Good games, someone else joined it seems.
>>14756216
We still playin'
Goddammit, I meant to win off that last one, not call chi.
Good games guys.
Looks like two people already left and I'm pretty tired myself from that last few hours of consecutive hanchans, so goodnight everyone.
Also, I think the room will stay up after I leave, so we don't need to keep making new rooms.
>>14756436
Good games. I wanted to play more but I was also starting to feel fatigued, so it was time for a break.

Why is it that if two people have the same score by the end of the game they a get different amount of points?
>>14769162
dealer priority?
>>14769162
In the event of tied scores at the end of a game, then the tie-breaker based on the initial wind seating (or the first hand) may applied. The player closest to the dealer position takes the higher position. Afterwards, the final score procedure takes into effect. Even with tied scores, the player in the lower position will receive a lower uma score. Alternately, any oka and uma may be split evenly between the tied players, resulting in a shared placing. The specific ruleset in use determines how this is handled.
