SS is only relevant for node M, C is ok to go through if you're farming M as well. The problem comes if he's farming boss, if you route through it you hit node I at 40% fuel and preboss at 20%, giving you significantly higher chances of getting trolled along the way due to evasion penalty. And 0% fuel at boss means you spend more buckets after it's over.

I don't know about your equips but I was able to get AS+ on easy with just 4 planes (Iwamoto, 2x Reppuu 601, Reppuu). CVs will do little on node M beyond the opening airstrike anyway, what really matters is having 2 CA in escort fleet to assure your boss kill even if one gets crit and hoping your DDs clear the PTs.
I can't even tell if I have incredible or terrible luck anymore.

So after passively playing this game in between events, I came back to see that Prinz is locked behind farming hell. I'm going to take a deep breath, go to sleep, and when I wake up, I want to think seriously whether or not I want to commit and continue playing.

There was no way Eugen was not going to be a farming nightmare when she was finally reintroduced, her radar alone was a final map hard mode reward, but it's only going to get easier with time. I don't get all the people debating quitting over Eugen being a tough drop when she'll absolutely be more common in the future. If you've been waiting this long you should be able to wait a bit longer. E-3 and E-4 are some of the worst maps for farming we've seen all year.
