It's not the worst distro, but there's nothing it offers that makes it worth using over any other distros and it has the worst fucking user base.
Hating on Arch is a meme, but it's actually a solid distro. Once you get it up and running and install all the shit you want, it's just update every ~week and you're golden. I haven't encountered issues in years of use.
Whether you'll like it or not depends on what you want in a distro, but I prefer (1) the minimal install then install what I wants vs. uninstall bloat, (2) the rolling release paradigm vs. fixed releases, and (3) AUR for easily installing and updating software not in the repositories.

The philosophy behind Arch is theirs to decide and that's just one page of the Wiki boasting it. Every other Wiki page is about how to do stuff in Arch. Their tutorials are straight to the point. It's literally what you want to do, then how to do it. This is unlike the Gentoo wiki which is a fucking university thesis on compiling code.
