gimp is a good photoshop replacement. idk about premiere.

I use Gimp as my image editor, it has enough features for me, though I haven't used photoshop enough to really compare the two feature-wise. You run into a few bugs with Gimp now and again, but not that often, and no real showstoppers.
I recently started using Lightworks for video editing, and it's pretty good so far. There's a free version where the only caveat is you can only export to 720p, but that's enough for me personally. Again, I can't compare to Premiere, but it's been pretty good so far.
