How do you backup your data?

Dropbox for non-personal stuff, external HDD for everything else.
>>
>>55621425
do you use some kind of software? And isn't it a pain in the ass? is there no automated solution that makes copies of everything in the background without you noticing?
>>
robocopy and rsync scripts pushing data to a NAS and every week the NAS gets duplicated to a hotplugged HDD.

what OS?

file history is what you want, enable it in the settings. it'll keep all changes on the interval you've set it up.
I'm using it at work with as a daily backup.

I copy and paste my hard drive's contents into an external hard drive

>file history

>trusting something microshit made to not fail at any moment

I bet you use system restore as well
>>
Rsync, Grsync, Deja Dup. Drag and drop in Samba.
>>

I've used it for several years now without a problem, did you even try it?
>>
>>55621392
I don't.

>he likes to pretend any of his data has value and he is just living dangerously on the edge
>in reality he doesn't have any important data, well, any data at all worth saving

I am not even sure if this is a good sign or bad sign.

This because I sometimes go outside and I haven't spent hours and hours coding my own bespoke, bug-riddled, ugly program to do simple tasks.

I have an issue, I had a RAID 1 config, but after resetting the BIOS to solve an issue the raid was stopped. Now One of the two disks is visible and usable (I already backed up all data on it to an external drive) but the other is "offline" see pic. I cannot format the scond drive and in the RAID setup it doesn't recognise any RAID config. How do I recover the second drive? Should I build a RAID and then remove it again?

you must have a sad empty life if you have no pictures or memories worth keeping.
>>
>>55621536
>modifies file modification time
>doesn't speed up after first backup
Rsync is your friend

Tarsnap.
All other services are pure pleb
>>
Nextcloud, various drives around my room. Both work well for me cannot complain.
>>
guys, how about a "recovery" RAID config?
>>
>>55621392 TimeMachine. One local and one remote (vps with 1tb storage, openvpn and netatalk) backup.
>>
I'm a photographer so
>dropbox for any work I'm currently working on
>Time Machine for incremental backups once an hour
>Drive clone once every couple of weeks, automated overnight
>Priority files go to an offsite server overnight
Then all my other externals with work on are doubled up. One set of drives in my home office at the end of the garden, another in the house in a locked fireproof cabinet with a Mac mini to handle all the syncing.
So, overkill I guess

I backup to my NAS which then backups to a second NAS at my parents. I also have USB backups on the NAS at my place.
>>
Ha ha. I don't do any of this shit. I have three HDDs in my dev station. Just save my work on one then copy it to the other. Every once in a while I'll zip it and back it up on an external.

You're fucked if there's a fire or if you get crypto'd
