If you answered yes in any of these questions, then you REALLY NEED NEW HARDWARE! Otherwise don't because the times where the power doubled with each generation is long lost. Now you pay full price for like +10% per generation.

Anyway my crystal ball tells me that after end of this summer holiday (aka 1st of September) Intel will release renamed architecture Skylake -> Kaby Lake which will be cheaper and with slightly better clocks + some new movie codecs + better integrated gpu.

Source: intel-gaming-starter-pack for new selected CPUs by the end on summer in (at least mine local) resellers.
