Whats the diffrence between a poo fan thats 25$ and a 5$ one? Are people seriously getting jewed out
>>
Moves more air while making less noise maybe idk
>>
>>55611325
$25 poo fan is the official designated shitting street fan
$5 non poo fan is for people who poo in the loo
>>
The horrible color scheme.
>>
>>55611353
The color of poo
>>
Hideous poo fan make less noise to move same amount of air.
>>
>>55611325
>Better bearings that won't dry out as fast and make noise
>PWM depending on which one you buy
That said, there are fans that offer the same features for less.
>>
>>55611325
well these fans come with accesories and cables you don't usually get with the cheapass ones and also a lot quieter have you ever ordered a $5 fan? terrible airflow and noisy but your right about the color they look like shit most people aren't that fussy though since they don't want to look in their case all the time except when working on it.

I got NZXT fans and Corsair ones which suit me just fine
>>
>>55611546
Which is better nzxt or corsair

6 year warranty.
It takes a high quality of manufacturing to stand by such a substantial warranty>

Only if you buy the plebeian regular Noctua's.

>let's ignore airflow and just slam fans EVERYWHERE
>>
>>55611559
Honestly can't compare the two because there is lots of different ones available they both make good fans IMO and I only have 120mm corsair fans the two NZXT fans I have are both 140mm so they put out more airflow
>>
>>55611580

I think I should add 2 more fans on top of the tower just to be safe.
>>
>>55611325
Noctua is over priced, but they deliver, and they deliver consistantly.

that being said you can find fans from other brands that perform just as well, if not better, but its harder to pick themout, and move one model number up or down and they wont perform as well.
>>
>>55611580
That's like, $150 in fans alone.
>>
>>55611576
The point of owning Noctua fans is to let everyone know you own them - with the poo color.

poo fans everywhere. I'd put 3 more poo fans up top, but those fans don't turn on unless core temps go above 70c
>>
>>55611733
Na, more like being a Linus shill and buying LTT Edition NF-F12's. :^)
>>
>>55611325
What is up with the creme/brown color scheme? HD 598 also doing this.
>>
>>55611580
Are you just putting fans in there for shits and giggles? Those temps don't justify your purchase.
>>
i love the Be Quiet fans, they're very silent, cheap, PWM, no annoying LED's, black color.
>>
>>55611755
>but those fans don't turn on unless core temps go above 70c
How do you achieve this ?
Some kind of fancy schmancy fan controller, and if so, which one ?

I'd really like for every fan in my system to shut the fuck up while everything is below 60C.

I bought the Cooler Master 4-pack last year because they were 4 for $17. They're advertised as "silent", but they're noticeably loud. And the screws were difficult to install; I had to use a power drill.

I bought a single high quality fan for the same price and I have no complaints.
>>
>>55612000
If you buy PWM fans and have a motherboard with PWM headers, a lot of them have software with the driver disc, or even functions in the BIOS. With 3-pin fans, a fan controller can work for some fans, if you set the controller low enough.

I just use Enermax Fans, removable fan blades for easy cleaning, Adjustable Peak Speed, twister bearings.
>>
>>55612021
For aesthetic reasons, I'd much prefer to avoid the fan headers on my motherboard.
Aside from NZXT's Grid+ V2, which as far as I know won't turn fans off below a certain temperature, I don't know much about fan controllers though, and they seem to be rather difficult to find any concrete information on.

Do you happen to have any recommendations for a fan controller ?
>>
>>55611325
is this some new snake oily shit? first apple products and beats, now this
>>
>>55612018
if you want fans that are actually silent, get pretty much any fluid bearing fan. they're quiet and can be mounted horizontally without making more noise or reducing the lifespan of the fan. they tend to be more expensive, but you can get a 5 pack of arctic F12's for $25 and they're okay. i wouldn't stick them on a heatsink or rad though. not enough static pressure
>>
>>55612000

Built in feature into higher end asus mobos. You can set fan curves for every fan, and in non-pwm mode, you can define a fan stop range.

asus might have terrible support, but as long as you don't need that support, they make the best mobos.
>>
>>55611325
With PMW fans, Noctua has no electric pulse clicking when fans spin, while 99.5% of any other PMW fans do have some noticeable clicking. They are also really quiet fans as well, the aerodynamics allow them to move more air at a quieter operating level.

Is it worth it for someone who lives in a noisy area? No.

Is it worth it for someone who lives in a quiet area, who wants silence, or who records audio? Yes.

Yes the cheapest Chink sleeve bearing fans are shit and will get worse and louder as they age.

I'm sure you can get a decent ball or hydro bearing fan for a lot less then Noctua but you'd need to look up their specs.

If you wanted to go full muh fan then check out the maglev bearing fans Corsair just released.

Anyone using the Define S with a 240mm radiator and a 120mm radiator both at the front? Ones from the CPU and the others the GPU.

I want to know if it will fit even with the extra space from the radiator tubing mounts.

Fucking hell, draw a better picture and ask again.
I cant even tell where your devices are and which one is responsible for what airflow. Also missing CPU fan (orientation), I dont know where the fuck your PSU is and what kind of GPU cooling system you are using.

Shame on you. Redo it properly, faggot.

Wow. So it was a top down view.
Okay, so the config is pretty reasonable. No need to add more fans on the "top" (from this POV) and no need to switch around fans in my opinion.
>>
>>55613795
Thanks for the feedback anon. I appreciate it.
>>
>>55613811
On second thought, if you have a lot of free time or just enjoy playing around with hardware configs, move everything thats on the "right" to the "top" and see if GPU or motherboard temps change.

Its possible that they are going to go up though, so no need to put in all screws for testing. You might have to undo the changes again.
