Where were you when the 7950 beat the 780 TI? How is this possible?..

Where were you when the 7950 beat the 780 TI?
How is this possible?.. Is this the nvidja gimping I have heard so much about?

So is the meme of Nvidia gimping old card true?
>>
>>55609112
look at project cars benchmarks
yes
>>
>>55609112
More like no oversight. They are living in the Zen moment, and the cards are only relevant to current gen. Future sight is not built in because they want to sell more cards, not let customers keep their cards.

Nope. No gimping, just wait for the next monthly driver update from nvidia

so the fact that the GTX 780 had worse results than the 960 at launch is pure coincidence, huh
they do this shit with so many games at launch, those are the benchmarks that usually get the most attention
just look at fallout 4 difference after patches

Yes, it was a driver but that was rectified quickly.

All these so called "gimping" has been fixed with the next driver update from Nvidia.
>>
>>55609291
Driver bug*

>>55609240
Notice how all nvidia cards lose performance in that and not just selectively everything pre maxwell?

That's not gimping from nvidia.

whats funny is the performance regression for all nvidia cards except the 1080 when running in vulkan.

doom - vulkan doesn't even enable async on nvidia cards, only amd, and nvidia still receives performance regression in vulkan.

there's even posts on the official nvidia forms about this.
>>
>>55612859
It's up to the developers to optimise for all architectures now that they're using a low level API.

So it doesnt have anything to do with nvidia but with developers if same settings older api (opengl) allow nvidia cards to perform better, it seems devs just fucking up.

That's exactly what it is. Especially when it's a low level API.
