Why is my laptop battery not charging? I've had it plugged in for hours and it's been at the same percentage (34%). I unplugged it and used it for a while, and it went down to 20%. I plugged it in again and it stayed at 20%. The battery percentage is not rising and I'm afraid that if it drops to zero I'll never be able to turn it on again.
I just got this battery back in January to replace another one. What do I do?

That's it, my next computer has to be a Mac. At least Apple has tech support I can go to in-person and solve my problems if things don't go right.

You bought a cheap non OEM battery.
My advice?
Get some proper litium cells get the original battery and replace the old ones.
Either that or buy a new one that is OEM.
Never buy non OEM batteries unless you know what you are actually buying because 6/10 batteries have shit cells and controllers.
And if you can't stand for it don't worry apple is much worse with the battery situation..

Some laptops have a feature to not charge the battery when plugged in AC. My Dell laptop at work has it. It can be enabled/disabled with a cancerous Fn-Fsomething combination. I actually hit it by accident once and didn't know why the FUCK my battery didn't charge.
Turn the computer off for a few minutes, and turn it on again, then try charging it
