Some company has a similar HTPC case design but I forget who. Asrock? In Win? ECS? Can't remember who. But yeah, first thing I thought of you as that they were using old abandoned shells because it looked nearly identical.

I couldn't get any use out of the TrackPoint II due to slowness and no center button for scrolling, and I can't stand using a mouse without a tenkeyless keyboard because of ergonomics, so it just wasn't useful to me. I love buckling springs and I just wish I could have a buckling spring keyboard with a TrackPoint IV, but that's a dream that will never be reality.

I had a Space Saver II at one point also (tenkeyless keyboard with TrackPoint IV) and that was fantastic in form factor and TrackPoint but the keyswitches were terrible.

it's meant to use web based applications for basically everything (specifically google drive). It would only increase confusion to increase the cost to do something that the chromebook brand is not meant to do

Never had a problem with my eeePC 1001HA.
Had so many classic games on it and it lasts 4 hours while playing them since the Atom uses fuckall power.
Sold it for $120 earlier this year, so it's still worth as much as an X201. It's amazing how worthless Thinkpads get considering how good they are technically in all aspects.

I'm not even kidding, ThinkPads are the most fucking aesthetic electronics of all fucking time

I'm sick and fucking tired of hipster ball-less faggots taking over my fucking technology.

For what it's worth, I agree with you anon but I know many people would say thinkpads look like relics. I think the design is timeless.

Too bad ThinkPads are so fucking hipster it hurts.
>trendy but not mainstream
>often purchased with more symbolism and hype in mind than actual merit
>"vintage" aesthetic
>thrift store-tier availability and value
>obnoxiously smug userbase that won't shut the fuck up about them
>userbase is obsessed with running obscure operating systems on them and shits on anyone who doesn't

thinkpads, a great deal of high end workstations and servers, a lot of networking equipment
>>
>>55601207
hermanni thinkpads are more common in business world than mac shit

at least with people who do actual work

almost all meetings I recall this year where I've been people have had either thinkpads, latitudes or some hp elitebooks.

if excitement is aesthetic for you, go pursue a degree in fashion, you're on the wrong board

Also the real cancer in computing is the stagnation of actual improvement in favor of converting technology into fashion accessories for the masses

>Also the real cancer in computing is the stagnation of actual improvement in favor of converting technology into fashion accessories for the masses
This is the "cancer" I'm talking about, you tolerate whatever cheap awful shit the megacorps throw at you as long as it makes your games slightly faster, you have no standards, no taste, you justify their actions to cut corners instead of innovating or making a quality, long-lasting product that feels like something more than a bunch of cheap off the shelf taiwanese parts lazily thrown into a plastic enclosure.

Form and function are not mutually exclusive, they ideally bring each other out.

But there's something about that blue PCB that makes it feel much newer than it actually is.

Hell, if you got rid of all the 2000s as fuck chrome and clear plastics I think it could pass for something made in the last 10 or even 5 years.

I don't get what you don't like about the G5 case. Adding expansion cards work like it would for practically any other case, you press the card into the slot and secure it with a screw.

It's just more cramped, and the poor contrast between the black PCI-X/PCIe slots and the dark blue PCB doesn't help either in typical lighting conditions.
