dude, the reason people dont use linux is not because of the UI, but because it doesn't support certain vital programs to their needs. Especially in Linux UI is the least of my problems. i can do whatever i want with it, but ableton( tons of vsts) ,photoshop,premiere,reason,(and games) is my reason i put up with win.

They don't boot faster, programs don't launch quicker, nothing you do on it uses less CPU.
