as someone who uses ubuntu mate what are he pros and cons of changing to arch is it better and easier to use?

If you are happy with mate, stay with mate.
Arch isn't really "difficult" but sometimes it will consume a lot of time.

time in doing what
It's not better or worse, but it isn't easier. You will need to install and configure every single part of a fully functioning desktop system yourself.
im only asking because mate keeps freezing every 4 hrs
"Arch is the easiest, best and most reliable linux ever, just follow a 30 page wiki page only for the basic installation"
- some archfag retard
Arch Linux is the best computer OS on earth.
Go learn how not to be a tech illeterate retard.
Anime + openbox for best results.

It's probably your computer.

Gentoo is better if you have time to compile everything.
Pros: you get to configure your OS from scratch
Cons: takes around a month to configure your OS to look like Ubuntu

Hmmm, not really.

I have moved to arch twice, the first one from ubuntu desktop, in my desktop, because why the fuck not, and the typical arch pretentiousness.
The second was from mate to arch, because mate just got updated to 15.04 iirc and the system just broke. I have never had a reason to migrate from arch.
It can be a pain in the ass of course, sometimes X breaks, installing only gives you a tty (sudo pacman -S gdm for your first time btw, then change to whatever)
and shits.
