Why is the 6700K cheaper than the 4790K?

The former is now a legacy item that caters to those with legacy motherboards. Is it still cheaper to go from a 4690K to a 6700K after the mobo? Not everyone is so fortunate to live near a Microcenter.
Intel does not lower prices on their previous gen tech. They never have.
