I have to send my HDD for data recovery. The thing has all my porn and personal shit. Do any of you know how exactly the process works? Do they look through your data? Or do they just hook it up to some equipment and then send you your data? I don't want a bunch of dudes laughing at my porn tastes tbf
op cp is wrong

There's nothing illegal on it, but it's still embarrassing.

friendly reminder that loli and shota is treated as cp in most countries.
Certain types of hardcore porn are also illegal in many countries.

They charge you depending on if the data is recovered or not.

I know, I was wondering if anyone knew if they actually looked through the contents of your data. Thanks for replying though.

ffs, of course they look through your shit. Can you imagine how boring that job must be?
>>55516855
Of course they can. Will they go through everything and leak it? NO.
Think of it like an old timey photo developer. The dicks and tits don't shock you anymore it's just another roll of film
you see those pics you shouldn't share threads on /b/? ever wonder where the pics came from?

I've worked as a technician. We do, but we don't pour through it looking for shit usually. As long as it wasn't on your desktop or just in your pictures folder you're fine.
Of course they go through it all, how do you think they charge you for data recovery? They make sure it's all there, if some of it is corrupt or couldn't be recovered they let you know. Your best bet is getting your mom to take it in and pick it up.

You don't leak data do you?
That's a good way to lose big data recovery contracts.
>>55516769
if it's nothing illegal then don't worry about it
i'm sure data recovery people see all manner of porn
i'd assume they don't see beyond filenames, not because they couldn't open things, but because they probably don't care to look at much stuff

You cannot afford to enjoy loli, shota, etc, until you have implemented data redundancy.
In order to avoid your situation.
>>55516744
I do. They will keep your data for a week after return and then delete it if you didn't fuck it up. Nobody working on data recovery gives a fuck about your personal files. No hoarding. Free space is precious.
>>55516855
Depends. If you order to recover something specific, we will look for it. If you order "everything" we will check out dome random files to see how the recovery went.
There's nothing wrong with privacy OP, don't feel ashamed. They'll wonder around looking for something corrupted, but probably won't open anything. Should have encrypted and made a backup btw.
