I learnt through competitions (had previous years of C experience so adapting wasn't too bad), hackerrank and the like, and just looking through the docs for any queries

codecademy
dive into python 3 book
codeeval challenges
zet code tutorials for pyqt, sqlite

start looking for projects that would push you to make use of python and learn more

It feels like codecamy shows tutorials for programmers, not beginners
>>

hardly, its very beginner friendly
you will have hard time finding something easier

theres some retardation occasionally, but you gotta bite through, not getting hang up on details and move forward

codecademy is there to make you aware of things, and give some introduction

I pretty much only use like 5% of all features of python and probably don't even know about 80% of it. I just learned the stuff about python that's important for my work by solving problems with it using some libraries that are essential (numpy, scipy, matplotlib etc). Honestly, programming in python means putting pieces of compiled libraries together with minimal control flow. If you find yourself actually implementing low level algorithms in python, you are doing something wrong. That's just not how python is supposed to be used.
