Compatibility when talking about a KERNEL doesn't mean how many programs run on it.

That's not compatibility. The program has to be built on the os they are to run on, it has nothing to do with the kernel. The developers just chose not to support those platforms.

Compatibility is like POSIX vs Windows api etc
