So i want to upgrade my r9 280x to a gtx 1070, the 1070 is $540 here in canada. Do you guys think i should buy the 1070 asap (like 2-8 weeks i guess) or should i wait a bit for prices or something?

just get a 970
Prices wont go down anytime soon. Also don't buy into the "wait for the 1060 to come out" or some shit like that.

Is that you?
I'm in Canada. Bought an EVGA GTX1070 SC a few weeks ago. Price came to $680. Where are you getting it so cheap?
Anyways I justified my purchase in that my last card was a radeon 5850.

Youre right, thanks.

Oh i saw one from memoryexpress. Check pcpartpicker canada, and you will get some good prices
It's unlikely that prices will drop by more than $10-$30 for quite a while for these cards. There's no reason for it at all.
I upgraded from 280x to 1070. It's double the performance in everything with the 280x running at 1150Mhz )

Wait about six months. At that point AMD will have something to compete with the 1070.
280x is stil good at 1080p, and you can't sell it for much right now.

I got a Rx 480 for 270$ on newegg and it's as good as the 970 which run for 350$ on sales
