So I have to learn Tomcat for the next week as I can get a raise if I do so. I don't know much about it, to be honest I don't even know what it does.
I've been googling around, but I'd like to try asking here. What should I know? What kind of job would I be doing using Tomcat? I'm currently a Linux SA.

Tomcat is a server/container for Java servlet shit, basically a server for the Java (not JS) web platform. You deploy Java EE web applications on the thing.
