thank you
>>55395438
also uncheck the two Block reported things in Preferences > Security
>>55395183
Here is a pretty dated infographic that was floating on /g/ long time ago. Still has some good stuff on it.
Plus this: >>55395438
>>55395490
Here's the updated one:
http://www.logicalincrements.com/firefox/
if you want to be firefox-botnet free you should also go to advanced > update and uncheck "use a background service for updating".
>>55395183
Use Chromium.
>>55395580
how do you debotnet chromium? does it have the autocompletion on per default?
>>55395490
>adblock plus
>adblock edge
>noscript
>disconnect
>requestpolicy
lol yeah it's outdated use uBlock Origin and uMatrix instead
>>55395607
Chromium is already de-botnet. You can compile it yourself if you are that paranoid.
>>55395613
u* are botnets
>>55395438
Holy shit, I didn't know there was a facebook thing in firefox?
How long has it been there? How much info did they get from me?

Appreciate this, anon. I had a couple of those not disabled.
>>55395607
dont use google as default search engine
dont use spell check
plus pic related
the least you could do
they would probably still collect usage data
>>55395715
this is quality

With every major release I go through and check to see what Mozilla has added. I use debian, so I use the ESR version of firefox, which might have preferences that either don't exist anymore, or have been renamed. Additionally, there might be more services that Mozilla added which should be disabled.
The only way to check is to go into about:config and skim through the choices.
>>55395842
Yeah, that's what I did too.
Where do you view the new things Mozilla has added? I want to stay up-to-date just like you, so I don't miss disabling privacy-invading features..
>>55395875
It sounds bad, but I've viewed the about:config entries so many times over the years that I can spot anything that I've never seen before pretty easily.
You could just check github as people keep their user.js file updated:
https://github.com/pyllyukko/user.js
This is just one of many.
>>55395842
>>55395875
this is sad
>>55395794
this is what I was looking for, thanks
>>55395934
sort of like the MTV of browsers
>>55395934
It really is. I shouldn't have to go through this routine for every update. Personally, I'm getting used to runnings links2 in graphics mode for web browsing.

>>55395913
Well, fuck me.
There are VR values as well? Why?
is it only me or is firefox getting slower and slower with time.
then I always switch to chrome but then switch back again to firefox cause missing features.
then the cycle repeats x10000

>pref("dom.ipc.plugins.flash.subprocess.crashreporter.enabled", false);
>flash
lol
>>55395842
Is there an easy way to find obsolete entries?
>>55395183
You can't, just give up on SJWfox.
>>55395438
>>55395978
This one's a bit outdated and not as extensive as pyllyukko or ghacks. For example, there is no longer any switch to enable or disable websockets. You must instead set network.websocket.max-connections to 0.
>>55396250
I don't use flash at all, but it's a preference that is part of firefox so I disabled it.
>>55396278
Unfortunately none that I know of. I basically just create a new temporary profile, go into the about:config, and then look for preferences. If a preference isn't present within about:config anymore, I remove it.
>>55395715
You forgot electricoutlet.fbi.tap.enabled
Patch it. Install Gentoo wiki patches page.
