I want to upgrade my Phenom II x4 955, can I just get the FX-8320e and overclock him to a FX-8350? I dont want to spend much cash on my rig thats why I dont want to switch to intel, also im looking forward to dx12 and more games with multicore support.
>>
I think a i3 6100 build would be better. And if I remember correctly it's similarly priced to the FX 8350. If you asked a year ago, I think I'd have gone with the AMD system, but these new Skylake chips are actually really good.

i5 2500k can be had for ~$100 on ebay

so u guys think this cpu will not be good in the future when games support all the cores?

The 8320e is the best of the FX chips. Binned, low leakage chips that require less voltage than others to achieve the same sort of overclocks. You might not get it quite to a 9590's level, but it'll use a hell of a lot less power than one of those leaky monsters at equivalent frequencies.

Hitman
1.920 × 1.080, Maximale Details:
GTX 980 Ti @ i7-6700K @ DX11 72,5 fps
GTX 980 Ti @ i7-6700K @ DX12 68,3 fps
GTX 980 Ti @ FX-8370 @ DX12 65,2 fps
GTX 980 Ti @ FX-8370 @ DX11 41,5 fps

If the softwarre is optimised im optimistic that the cpu can handle future titles.

The FX chips are not much better than the P2

You may as well get an i3 or i5.

Zen is not likely to be better than the current intel offerings and games will never use all the cores because they cater to main market which is quad core.

Ive used a clocked up 8320 for the last few years. I am getting rid of it for a i5 since its IPC is garbage

if you're gaming get an i5
if not, get a 8320/50
or else get an i7 and post speccy screenshots on /g/ all day

I decided to save some money and went with an i3 6320, z170 board, and 3200mhz ddr4. Using my 560ti until aftermarket Rx 470 drops. Couldn't be happier with my selection, after the video card I want to upgrade my storage solutions. I thought the chop would struggle with cpu games like most of what blizzard produces but no problems there. Superior to 2500k on two cores with a way lower heat and power output.
