No. The better subtitle rendering is absolutely worth it.

Thanks! And what about colors and definition?
At the moment, yes. They are a meme, too expensive and there's not much 4K content available.
I suggest you wait until 2018 to buy a 4K TV. For now a 1080p TV is more than enough especially since most HD channels are still 720p for some retarded reason.

Get off 4chan grandpa.
skip 4k for now. wait for 16k because that will be the plateau

>And what about colors and definition?
Assuming "definition" to mean something akin to contrast, those are completely separate properties from the resolution.

And for that reason yes and no. All other things equal, higher resolution is better, but personally I'll take a 1080p plasma with good motion/contrast/color over a 4K TV any day.

I read unbiased live reports on the internet

yeah I live in a civilized country that lets me watch cable on the internet
4k tvs make awesome monitors and htpcs. Youtube has tonnes of 4k stuff. All my 4k phone vids and downloaded vid torrents can be streamed to my tv because 4k tvs decode x265 and 1080p ones do not. Also my note 4 can use the mhl cable to mirror 4k output natively turning it into a desktop linux pc
