We have a lot of old smartphones in my house. What can I do with them?
I have an Arduino Uno 3. I was planning on buying a raspberry pi 2 to connect it and a sensor kit to mess around with.
Someone once said to me the RBP2 was a phone with a screen. If that is true, can I use these old cell phones instead of buying raspberry pi 2s?
How would i be able to interface withe phones, or do I need to rip them out of their case and screens. Is there a tutorial?
Is there another use to old cell phones?

Did you try turning it off and back on again?

I mean, rpi and arduinio are designed to fuck around with. GPIO pins, ethernet and USB and power connectors, endless online tutorials.
Old android phones are designed for consumer electronics. No GPIO, no custom software support normally, no ethernet or power cord, USB is a bitch, etc.
I don't what you think you'll accomplish using an old phone as a rpi. Just because they both have ARM doesn't mean that they're interchangeable

Install Replicant on them

Install gentoo:

No seriously a gentoo chroot might be quite useful allowing you to use those smart phones for similiar things to a pi. Provided the wifi works you could use it as a shitty seedbox or VPN server.

I can't solder some port on or something?
Install clover onto all your phones then place them in every room of the house. Each room is now shit posting compatible.

I have an old droid with a physical keyboard I might try this with.
