Kill me
>>
>>55320518
Closed the gap to last gen's nvidia stuff.

Still not as good as the new pascal, but good enough.
>>
>>55320552
God, even the 28nm Fury is better than this meme card...
>>
o wow, looking forward to buying one
>>
>>55320773
And Fury also cost about 3 times as much at launch.
>>
I hope you guys like nVidia's pricing for flagships because AMD is only able to compete at midrange from now on--assuming Zen isn't a similar flop at 14nm, which will kill AMD.
>>
>>55320820
How the hell all the 28nm AMD cards draw less power and heat than the 14nm Polaris...
>>
>>55320518
What is the issue ?
>>
>>55320888
>What is the issue ?
ITS A FUCKING HOUSEFIRE
>>
that is excelent
too bad about the multimonitor setup
I hoped they would finally fixed the need for full clock there
>>
>>55320905
>better perf per watt than the 970, which was a good card with low power

I dont get it.
>>
>>55320921

14nm vs 28nm

what dont you get?

its a fucking disaster
>>
>>55320937
>Maxwell was optimized through years
>First Polaris card

>omg it's a disaster

I still dont get it
>>
>>55320905
78°C=housefire? last time i checked it wasnt, stop shilling
>>
>>55320937
$200 card vs $265 card, same exact performance

what dont you get?
>>
>>55320886

Pic related.
>>
>>55320937
this
>>
>>55320965

The silicon doesn't get optimized 50% over a generation, homeslice. AMD's 14nm is suitable only for midrange against nVidia's 16nm.

The RX480 is a good buy at $240 today. That's what you can take away from this if you're not getting it. The rest of us are recognizing that Polaris means AMD didn't get any closer to nVidia at 14nm than they were at 28nm.
>>
>Performance per Watt
I'm amazed people actually care. If you can afford the card you can afford the power bill and nothing has been housefire tier for years. When a card literally catches fire during a stress test like the 480 then we'll talk.
>>
>>55321130
I just realized I can't say 'the 480' anymore. Truly awful. The GTX 480 as presented by Nvidia™ circa 2010.
>>
>>55321130

ppl dont rly care, but it has other implications, like they have no chance of competing in the high-end segment. There is 0% chance they will be able to beat Pascal with this kind of results.
>>
>>55321130
Considering I pay 30 cents a kwh during non-peak usage, yes, it matters.

All blower reference cards from both companies run hot, you're literally retarded and should kill yourself.

RX480 pulls the same wattage as 1070 and produces 50% fewer frames with it.
>>
>>55321260
everyone elses is 10¢, ur the only one that cares boi
>>
>>55321317
its also half the price
>>
>>55321019
Why do they all look like they're fucking 15?
>>
>>55321324
That's the going NYC rate, and I'd argue quite a bit of people from /g/ live in the city
>>
>>55321338
which you'll pay over time lmao
>>
>>55321345
i live in a small town of 8000 people in california. literally wtf are you on about?
>>
>>55320886
It's a 232mm^2 die so they obviously had to clock it like crazy (thus killing watts/performance) to beat it's precursors and competitors on much bigger dies. For comparison the 380X, 390X and GTX 970 are 359, 438 and 398 mm^2 dies respectively while the 1080 and 1070 are 314 mm^2.

Lets wait until the autumn to see how well Nvidia does on a similarly sized die and how well AMD does on a 300+ mm^2 die.
>>
>>55321338

That's what he meant by housefire, though. AMD's 14nm is a failure compared to nVidia's 16nm.
>>
>>55321357
yea ik, good thing im not dirt poor
>>
>>55321360
>literally
>wtf
>>
>>55321360
>in california. literally wtf
Sounds about right. America needs to blast that shithole off the coast and let it either sink or become another Southeast Asian island nobody cares about.

>>55321459
It's just a question of time.
