what does bsd think of gnu userland being ported to *bsd?

Disgusting
>>55311350
It's dumb. At the point you're ditching the userland (and the "develop kernel and userland together" model along with it) there's little reason to not switch the kernel to Linux too.
>>55311375
stop being autistic, i'm asking from a pragmatic approach
since most sysadmins come from a gnu background, and finding bsd sysadmins is rare or too expensive
and if I can teach someone from "training wheels" it could probably be easier in the long run
>>55311350
I don't see the disadvantage. It may be a waste of time (who is going to use it? why?) but it's no harm to anyone and might make the gnu utilities a bit more kernel-independent if the changes ever get upstreamed
>>55310883
Why would you use bsd when the devs don't even use it?
>>55311668
not devs, but ops

>>55311408
I don't see the point. A good sysadmin will research it.
>>55311668
Only true for FreeBSD.
