What you're really saying is that you're too poor to have upgraded from 1920x1080@60hz to 2560x1440@120/144hz.
No point in going up to 4k until GPU's can handle it better, but 1440p is a fucking sweet spot upgrade with 77% more pixels.

No, I can afford it, but its not worth the headache of a MGPU set-up.
No single GPU can comfortably handle 4k@60hz.
Until we have GPU's that can comfortably do that, there's no way I'm moving up in resolution.

Higher resolution can give you a competitive advantage in certain games, particularly FPSs. For single player games it doesn't matter as much. Some people prefer flashier graphics, some prefer better visibility, and I fall into the latter category.
