>He didn't buy an MLC SSD
I bought an HDD instead.
Excepting a head crash any minute now.
V-NAND is far superior.
HOWEVER as long as you have a high capacity MLC SSD then that's fine too. It's the best choice when shopping for a budget SSD too. I saw the 480GB Sandisk SSD Plus for $99 last week.
>tfw you did not fall for the tlc flash meme
Samsung 830 here, I remember alot of ssd having big controller issues back them. Also the people fell for the ocz meme.

Don't it's shit.
I got one a year ago and it's trash.
Started at 300/200 then within the span of one week it slowed to 150/30, slower than the fucking HDD it replaced.

Do you get the MLC version?
b-but muh v-nand
>>55277900
That's what it says.

Oy vey.
This is like anudda shoah. Now what SSD do i buy?
>>55278083
I ended up getting a Crucial BX200, been pretty consistent with speeds. It was 480GB and $130 though, not nearly as thrifty per GB as the cheaper brands, but after reading up all the shady shit and SandForce jewery, SSDs are one thing I'm not going to skimp on anymore.
It's a real crapshoot at the <$50 level it seems.

And right as I read this I find that the 500/500 speeds I'm getting are only if I stay within the 6GB cache limit in one burst. Fuck everything.

anyone have any experience with samsungs 950 pro? is it any good?

SSDs are a meme
Anybody who needs speed and more IOPs just buys RAM with battery and HDD backup
>THEY FELL FOR THE NAND SSD MEME
