DVI is obsolete, like VGA.

Use HDMI or DisplayPort.
>>
>>55276566
do you listen to music with your monitor
>>
>>55276566
Why do you need to transfer audio to your monitor? Are you using one of those with 2W integrated audio?
>>
>>55276566
Doesn't DVI have a modicum of less input lag because it doesn't transfer audio or have i been ruse-cruised
>>
>>55276566
>he doesn't use 5.1ch surround sound stereo speakers
>>
Some new monitors have VGA but don't have DVI. Like VGA + HDMI or VGA + DisplayPort. Any reason for that? Is this an anti-DVI conspiracy?
>>
>>55276566
But that's wrong.
>>
>>55276596
>input lag

you fucking gamers and your god damn placebo.
>>
>>55276614
HDMI is just DVI with additional things like Ethernet. You can output from DVI to HDMI, you cannot do such a thing with VGA.
>>
>>55276534
This. Straight 4K60 with no issues from a 4 year old GPU over DP. Probably the most inspired bit of packaging I've seen is the cable: the monitor has both full and mini displayport ports and ships with a mini to full displayport cable so you're always set out of the box without clunky adapters.
>>
>>55276620
Trust me its a factor, my old lcd made fast-paced gaming impossible
>>
>>55276534
May as well go all the way to displayport. It's the only option at certain bandwidths.

USB-C

;^)

this might be the place to ask
say i have a gpu with both vga and dvi alongside it, should i be running dvi to dual vga, or 1 in the vga and 1 in the dvi with a dvi to vga adapter

ive got two monitors both with vga, and i cant run integrated and dedicated graphics correctly at the same time, so im thinking just a dvi to vga adapter for the second monitor
>>
>>55276614
VGA became so ubiquitous that it became legacy. That never happened with DVI.
>>
>>55276699
Grow up, gaymer faggot manchildren.

Your dubs are shit.

I dunno, fuck HDMI I guess

DVI.
HDMI in anything newer than Win 7 is a mess.

I sure do love having my desktop at 60Hz and every freaking game at 59.94 so when I alt tab my monitor has to change refresh rates which takes some seconds instead of just altabing instantaneously.

Whats even more funnier is that you can use CRU and fix all this shit which Microsoft could solve but they are lazy as fuck.
>>
>>55276566
>Use DVI to HDMI cable.
>You have audio.

It's what I use. Monitors have built-in speakers.

Yes, comparative adjective.
>>
>>55276955
It's either more funny or funnier.
>>
>>55276977
it could be funniest.
>>
>>55276983
True. It could not be more funnier though.
>>
>>55277005
Yes it could.
What is context et cetera.
The fact that HDMI is a mess is already funny, there is no reason for it to behave that way at all.
>>
>>55276535
HDMI will automatically scale down movies to 720p unless the people who made the movie pay a bunch of money for you.
>>
>>55276487
VGA

Today and tomorrow.
>>
>>55277026
No it could not. There is never a situation where more funnier is correct.
