How does Wifi work?

can someone draw me a picture?

how exactly do wifi hacks work in the real world? i've tried the soda can thing but that did not work.

i am thinking of building a custom wifi thing. it will sorta look like this in the end. i will probably use a soda can as well.

do you think it will work?

put fans next to your wifi antenna this will push the signal out further also dont forget to install gentoo on your router this will give it big software speeds

This is a meme. In order to make a legit antenna you need it to be directly connected to the conductive material also the material you soldering the antenna on has to be cut/etched to the correct wavelength. Just adding some foil around it is placebo and gives virtually no range.

Example.

This type of patch antenna give very good directional range which windsurfer tries to emulate.

Go try it and come back. It does improve an omnidirectional antenna's performance in the direction it reflects. Nowhere near as much as what you just posted, but it's a huge payoff for the tiny bit of effort.

I never claimed windsurfer gives significant range improvements if anything the opposite.

It's much more convenient to buy or make a REAL directional antenna or high gain antenna but windsurfer is better than nothing (I guess)
