Ended up replacing a faggy asus rog motherboard for free, card worked fine. only charged the person $50 for labour. Most of the time in IT jobs (and any other technician job) you've got your standard work hours, but then you're "on call" during a much larger window. This could mean certain days, 5pm-5am monday-friday, or even 24/7. When you're on call, you're forced to remain within an hour (or some other timespan) of work, so they can call you and know you'll show up within that time.

It depends. If there are a lot of technicians, they'll call someone else until they get someone who answers. If it's specifically assigned to you, and you're on call, then if you don't come in you can be fired.
