Remaining parts have shipped, shouldn't be too long now.

Can I plastidip ram? It's going to get underclocked to 1333mhz anyway, i doubt it will be hot
The blue just throws it off.

yeah, heatsinks do fuck all anyway. Should be good.

Not the greatest idea ever, but shouldnt cause any issues. If I were you I'd ghetto sleeve those front panel connectors (Electrical tape covering), Or properly sleeve them if you can be bothered

Poorfag college student here, here is what I have so far

Now I need a Mobo, ram, gpu, and cpu.
I was thinking any fm2+/fm2 compatible mobo, 16gb ddr3 1866, r7 240 gpu, and an A8 7600 cpu.

Bear in mind I'm poorfag, which is the reason for all outdated (but still new) hardware.

Does this sound like it will all go together fine with the cx430? The hard drive is a new 1tb dell, as5 paste, and I'm probably going to use the stock heatsink.
Gaming is not the priority, but I will of course do so on occasion.

The parts are so old that I don't really remember much but it looks like it'll run something like GTAV at normal settings. 430w seems like the barest of minimums but it'll probably be ok. If you want actual compatibility confirmation, check pcpartpicker.com and start plugging stuff in.
>>
>>55208832
Would it be harmful for some to get on the actual surface of the ram stick under the heat spreader?
I have masking tape and can do everything but the tiny holes on one sides face. I don't want to take the spreaders off because I don't want to have to find thermal tape

actual porn is basically nothing. Hentai, probably 300-500GB.

Ecchi could be around 1TB or so.

Total anime is around 7TB. Rest is Movies, TV, music, books, and some games.

Get an RX 460, it comes out later in the month for $100, benchmarks look good and its price/performance should be great.

yeah MSI isn't the greatest, but it's the cheapest Z97 board.

If you never want to overclock, you can save $40 by getting a cheaper motherboard

I was browsing parts myself, I'm going to go ahead with exactly what you've shown

thanks again, I would have actually bought shit I would have been stuck with.
Only question I got now, is do you think a cx430 is sufficient for all of this? and how is the new GPU so cheap?
>>

>>
>>55210777
>>55210643
to be honest, I wouldn't recommend overclocking on a CX. the motherboard still should be good, unless you really want to cheap out with http://pcpartpicker.com/product/wMLypg/msi-motherboard-h81mp33 (I know both the boards I recommended are MSI, but they make the cheapest MoBos, In burgerland atleast)

No, the case itself is reverse ATX. Unless you wanted to get fucky with manufacturing your own bracket and using a PCIe riser, that is.
The GPU heatsink is a Raijintek Morpheus, and the case is a Corsair 600Q, if you're curious.

How are the temps on your GPU? I`ve never understood the concept of putting your rad up front, then blowing all the heat back through the entire case.

You could start by turning your HDD and SDD around so they can properly utilize the cable management in the case.

How dense / effective is it? I just learned a trick to use butyl rubber (flashing tape) as a sound dampener. Got a roll for pretty cheap. Plan on implementing it once I get my guts transfered to my new case. Waiting on a gamble I took on an EVGA mobo before because I`m gonna try and do a color scheme.

Case already has a lot of sound dampening built in, but I want to maximize while I`m going through the trouble.

>>55214886
Nice, not as bad as I would have expected considering you have that bottom fan ramming hot air right into the gpu.

I think my 7950 is due for another good cleaning, been running a lot hotter than usual, or that could be the fact I had to remove my side fans after getting a bigass noctua cpu cooler.

Could be the thermal paste has dried on me, too. Fuck TG-7, works fucking great but seems to dry up and need constant replacement. Again, going to do all that after I confirm whether or not that mobo I have in the mail works.

Then it`s time for a full gut, cleanse, seal, etc.

>>

Eh? Not really an excuse desu. Even with SLI 980Tis there is less than 1% performance difference from using x16/x8 PCIe lanes on the 5820k vs x16/x16 lanes on the 5930k. PCIe bandwidth is NOT the bottleneck.

Do some research next time. Unless you're running triple or quad GPUs, the 5820k performs essentially identically with any dual GPU setup you can currently buy.

Anything below 60$ I'd say, just needs to be kind of low because in the pic >>55208814
That case fan is right over the cpu socket. It has clearance, I just don't want two fans to be T'd by eachother

I thought of going with something high and reversing the case fan to have one single push of air, but I think a bend will be preferable with the low gpu

Would love to see what sort of OC you can get with that setup, plenty of rad space to dissipate the heat.

I can understand the founders edition cooler not getting good OC's, but hopefully with a waterblock it can manage something decent.

Sadly the founders edition 5+1 VRM configuration is cheap as fuck. 6+2, 8+2, or even 10+2 would have been nice to see.

Even the fancy AIB cards are only fitting 2100. Until custom bios comes out we are all stuck at about 2100
>>
>>55220798
Doesn't really matter it seems. There are plenty of aftermarket cards in the wild now and none of them are doing any better. It might be an artificial limit in order to hold back something for the Ti model.

>It might be an artificial limit in order to hold back something for the Ti model.
that certainly sounds like the Nvidia I know.
>>
>>55220840
I doubt there is going to be bios modding with Pascal. Nvidia seems to have thrown up all kinds of roadblocks. People were getting 1550-1600 mhz out of their 980 Ti's. Can't have that if you want to sell next gen cards. You can read more here:

my 5$ stock cooler comes today, if it fits with that case fan right on its side, ill just switch out the 92mm fan for something a bit better and use the stock cooler

im not a big fan of the shadow rock lp because it doesnt seem to have fastening screws? does it just kinda sit on there?

i do however really like that m9i, measuring everything out with my micrometer it would be almost perfectly positioned to do a single line of air straight from the inside of the case and right out through that case fan
>>
>>55227337
also, this is pleasant

>>
>>55227337
or, and this might not work, but i actually have acess to a Haas CNC milling machine, would anyone think that slimming down a stock cooler by about half its height have any negative effects

im not overclocking this 58w, 3.3ghz pentium g, so temps shouldnt be too big a deal anway
>>
>>55227414
it will completely fuck up the cooler. Don't do that.

the shadow rock LP has a mounting bracket, but a stock cooler should be fine

ah, ok, i might try it anyway with the other heatsink from the old pentium 4 that was in this thinkcenter before
which oddly enough, is the exact same fucking cooler design used for the lga 1150/55/56 sockets

its been what, 8 years since the p4 was phased out? it must be a perfect design or intel is just lazy

and i didnt see the mounting brackets, im blind, i may look into that then, but i think my ram might be too tall for it
