I'm on Xubuntu and I'm a new linux user. This is just my laptop for work/studies and playing roms...
software updater is telling me I can update Ubuntu from 15.10 to 16.04 LTS
Should I and Why?
Are you on xfce 4.12 yet? If not, update (or do a clean reinstall) to have some more options. E.g. You can hide the titlebar on maximized windows.
sure, why wouldn't you want to stay up to date?

I am, thanks anon

thank you
Word around the campfire is that Xubuntu has been giving people a lot of shit in 16.04, so upgrade at your own peril.
>>55204278
Don't, avoid 1604 like cancer.

I know what I am saying, newfriend.
>>55204631
he's not wrong, 16.04 is full of bugs and shit
it's a LTS so they'll fix it eventually, but skipping it for now is the wise thing to do

Huh. Not OP, but I just tried Linux for the first time using a Live-CD today (Lubuntu), and right now I'm downloading Xubuntu 16.04 to try out. Should I be worried? Or are the buggy stuff only for users who are upgrading?
I'm trying to decide between Xubuntu and Lubuntu for a slow laptop.
Ubuntu new releases always have 'surprises'. Wait 6 months before upgrade.
