Can /g/ relate? XDD

If you want to be a code monkey there are many establishments that will not bother you with the complex stuff.
At least here in ex-commie land there are.
>>
Not really, no.

This is the stuff that I wanted to go to uni for. I would think most people on /g/ think the same, and most 'gaem designers' are on /vg/

Uhh just failed a course on this. Theory of Computation. Was really interesting but I was not used to formal proofs.

What should someone be familiar with before going to university taking Comp Science classes?

>tfw have to take this course soon
>tfw don't know shit about formal proofs
Shit, I hope they teach more formal proofs in Discreet, which I'll be taking during the Fall.

Your .jpg is now optimized.

I really enjoyed the computation theory intro class I took though in the end I focused on hardware/systems programming courses. Having a great professor helps I guess.

I took CS for four years in high school. I went in comfortably with a solid base in java and databases. A bit of c++ but it's general consensus to know more c++ than java. Personally, it depends on what language your uni uses.

I loved my algorithms and ToC class because things were actually proved rather than handwaved like my other programming classes
>>
I wanted to make operating systems
Now I design VHDL and write drivers for it
I think I'm close enough

It really depends on your Uni.

My Uni had a really steep learning curve, first they started off with doing baby stuff in C++, and then they threw you into heavier stuff out of nowhere.

If there's one thing I suggest you learn, it's Linux. That's what killed a lot of peoples hopes and dreams in one of my CS courses.

No.
That is what /v/ gaymen manchildren think

No. I wanted to make games but as I learned/grew older I found I enjoyed graph algorithms, machine learning and procedural generation more. Now I'm math nerd.
