What you should do OP is with a wet sponge or rag lightly wipe your windows with water and immediately apply aluminum foil sheet on the window. What it does is reflects the heat out, Its pretty much pitch black if you cover the whole window so no one can see thru it. I live in Florida and all my home's windows are double pane insulated and tinted with silver backing with under 50% heat absorption tint. You can't see anything unless you walk up to the window and cup your hands together to stare in.
