some kind of ad blocker
something for gestures
something for nightmode
>>
>>55183063
Plus why would you even need it if you have uBlock? What other kinds of scripts would someone need to block?
>>
>>55183046
>NoScript
uMatrix is way better.
>>
>>55183089
How so?
>>
i prefer umatrix over ublock's advanced mode for the finer-grained control
>>
>>55183100
More fine-grained control of what is and is not blocked. You can allow a particular domain to set cookies, display images, and use frames, but disallow it from running scripts, for instance.

Anyway for privacy purposes I say UBO, uMatrix, and something like Self-Destructing Cookies.
>>
>>55183046
uMatrix + uBlock Origin + Decentraleyes.

literal days of intensive configuring
>>

calm down, Archfriend

if you want to spend days configuring something you won't find it with those addons. they aren't hard to set up or use at all.
>>
uBlock Origin, https Everywhere and DownThemAll!
>>
>>55183386
depends on the websites used. how would you configure youtube?
>>
>>55183484
No need to shout, anon.
>>
>>55183500
Who is shouting?
>>
>>55183495
well personally I wouldn't. I don't browse through videos there and when someone links me a video I want to see I use youtube-dl.

but I'm presuming you don't want to do that so you just tell uMatrix to allow scripts from youtube.com and ytimg.com on the youtube.com domain. I think those two are enough to make it work. Remember to click the lock icon to save those changes if you want them to persist.

UBO should need no configuration. If I recall correctly. Remember to check all the extra blocklists when setting it up.

SDC should also just werk. it allows cookies while you're on the site and then deletes them when you close the tab. So you should close tabs that you're done with and not keep 1,000 of them open. Remember to keep Flash uninstalled to avoid LSOs.

It took me longer to type that then it'd take you to do it.

Well he could be wanting to use SadPanda with private browsing.

What about RequestPolicy?
>>
Self-Destructing Cookies is very underrated. Very little configuration required, and it pretty much solves the issue of tracking cookies.
>>
You know some adblockers like Ublock and Adblocker Plus also track your internet usage. Which websites you visited where ads got blocked.

It's easier to just disable Javascript if you're scared of ads.
>>
>>55184049
Decentraleyes and Noscript have nothing in common, get both.
>>
>>55183046
Remove noscript since removing JS is autism.
>>
Didn't know about Decentraleyes before. Very nice; I'd been searching for something to solve this issue for a while.
>>
>>55183046
Pentadactyl
uBlock
uMatrix
>>
>>55183046
On a new install I always include:
1) NoScript
2) ABP
3) HTTPS Everywhere

Browser settings (No addons needed):
1) Disable Flash Plugin
2) Block all 3rd party cookies
3) Delete all cookies upon exit
4) Disable HTML5 Autoplay

Addons I like but can live without:
1) OpenWith
2) PrintEdit
>>

Privacy Badger
µBlock Origin
HTTPS Everywhere
>>
Is uMatrix supposed to be used with uBlock or does the former completely replaces latter?
>>
>>55183405
>literally less than 5 seconds per site
>sites that I spend longer than 15 seconds configuring in order to view their basic content aren't worth looking at
Just because you spend all your time on the latest social blogging platform that doesn't function without scripts from forty different domains doesn't mean the rest of us are cancer.
>>
Firefox pleb here:
ABP
Ghostery
MouseGestures
>>
>>55187415
>ABP
>Ghostery
You weren't kidding about being a pleb.

Try uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger as direct replacements for those two.
>>
>>55183484
This. + Greasemonkey and self destructing cookies.
>>
I have a few more, but i really like:

FindBar Tweat
Fireshot
FlashStopper
Menu Wizard
Pure URL
Simple Popup Blocker
Steam Database
Stop Autoplay next for youtube
Thumbnail zoom plus
ublock origin
url security
>>
>>55187447

Replacing ABP with uBlock seems to be reasonable but what's wrong with Ghostery? Privacy Badger says it's in alpha but Ghostery has been around for a while and they actually update their software. Is ghostery jewing my information somewhere or what?
>>
>>55187671

Yep. Ghostery, Inc. is an advertising firm.

Plus, Privacy Badger is an EFF project. They're good people. They make HTTPS Everywhere and some other widely-used tools.

Ublock Origin
Self Destructing Cookies
HTTPS everywhere

uBlock Origin, uMatrix, and HTTPS Everywhere are the holy trinity. Other things that are nice but not holy include DownThemAll, Self Destructing Cookies, 4Chan X, Stylish, GreaseMonkey, and ZoomPage.

>>55189000
Controls which sites lose their cookies. uMatrix deletes for all.

Open With is really nice. You can add programs to right click menus. Eg. livestreamer, mpv, youtube-dl, other browsers

No more copying links and shit

>Decentraleyes
Protects you against tracking through "free", centralized, content delivery. It prevents a lot of requests from reaching networks like Google Hosted Libraries, and serves local files to keep sites from breaking. Complements regular content blockers.

Can you explain in a way that is understandable?
>>
>Privacy Badger
>3.5 rating on firefox and chrome addon pages
>>
>HTTPS Everywhere
What for?
Most sites, redirect you to it's https, the only few that remains doesn't uses https.
>>
>>55189426
>Open With
How do I set this up in linux?
>>
>>55189899
i dont know what role it's trying to fill

if you're privacy minded you'll already go for one of the adblock options which includes privacy filter lists

as it is, it's just another barrier you have to hit "allow all" on when a website breaks and you don't know why

>>55189822
Because cookies are one of the main methods of tracking. You don't actually need permanent cookies for most sites. For an example, I have personally whitelisted only eight sites in SDC, and half of those are just for the session.

>>55189851
Many sites load common javascript libraries from 3rd party sources (eg. ajax.googleapis.com). Decentraleyes includes some of these libraries and uses those locally instead of downloading shit from Google (tracking)

>>55189981
Most sites but not all. It's getting better though, as you said. I don't notice any performance issues with HTTPS Everywhere so I'll continue using it for now

>>55189992
Add programs to the list in the settings. Maybe tweak the menu options too depending on where you want the shortcuts to show

You can use 'which livestreamer' or 'which mpv' etc to find the location
>>
>>55190078
But won't NoScript/UBO stop cookies from being installed?
>>
>>55190078
>Many sites load common javascript libraries from 3rd party sources (eg. ajax.googleapis.com). Decentraleyes includes some of these libraries and uses those locally instead of downloading shit from Google (tracking)

It isn't. You can manager cookies in modern web browsers.

Could you provide a link describing what they did? I've recently been considering switching back to NoScript for inline script filtering.

There's no solution to prevent JavaScript font enumeration?

I don't want to disable JavaScript altogether.

I don't want to force pages to use my default fonts because that can make some of them look ugly or break them completely (Font Awesome and shit like that).

I just want something that stops a website from enumerating my system fonts and thus fingerprinting me. For example it could detect the attempt and prevent it from enumerate too many fonts, and these fonts could be different each time, destroying the fingerprinting... something like this.

I can't sleep because of this very problem.
