Yo, /g/, I've used rubber dome keyboards my whole life and want to purchase a mechanical one since I've heard so many good things about them. However, I know very little about them and don't want to make a poor choice so I'm looking for recommendations. I'd prefer something smaller since my desk space is somewhat limited (see pic, maybe smaller than that). Any advice?
I just purchased my first mechanical after using laptop keyboards for the most part for the last 10 years. I went with a Filco ninja Majestouh 2 tenkeyless. I went with Cherry MX blues they're good to type on but loud as fuck so be aware of that.
If you can, order a switch tester from somewhere so you get an idea of how each switch will feel to type on and how much sound it will make.
Ducky Zero, Cherry MX Blues with Varmilo keycaps. Shit quality but i'm too tired to get up and get my G5
Honestly, leddit's /r/mechanicalkeyboard wiki is a good place to start with.

This is a good idea. I'll get one and decide what type of switch I like before plunking a bunch of cash down on a keyboard. Thanks.

if you want a 60% like this, i would recommend the v60
the pic is the same board and its pretty good
lightweight, small and feels great with gateron yellows, also comes with blues, etc

Just get a KUL-87 with clears

Getting smaller that that will make the keyboard not worth using. Do you really need an extra 2 1/2 inches so much that you are willing to cripple your keyboard usage?
