Who's "using a big screen tv as my primary display" here?

I've been using a 43 inch 1080p tv positioned lower than my eye level(so I'm looking slightly down) for almost a year now and it's fucking awesome.

I don't know how anyone could use a regular monitor.
>>
>>55169301
I used to have a 36" but I switched back to a regular monitor at 2 weeks of use because the heat on my face started to be overwhelming.
>>
>>55169301
only because im short on space or i would have my pc set up on a desk
>>
sounds awesome I should do this
>>
A 24" can be just as big as a 43" depending on your distance from the screen.
>>
>>55169789
not really
>>
>>55169789
What like in the other room distance. Not really.

What brand is that tv, christ
>>
I've been using a 52" while sat about 2 feet away from it for the past couple of weeks.

Currently watching bob ross on my 42" LG whilst it rains outside.

>>
>>55169935

>>
>>55169899
Yes. Any improvement is still improvement and i doubt my t420 can run higher res shit.

>>55169914
Are you in the US? You can get 1080p monitors for about $60 on ebay. I went with the 1050s because i like 16:10.
>>
One day if I ever get a job I'll buy a 4k 40" Korean monitor.

One day...
>>
>>55169965
4k is very slowly becoming a consumer thing, its been around for ages but never really took off with the general household, but its happening now, so that one day might come quicker then you think
>>
>>55169301
Currently using a Sony 55" 1080p TV as my main, here.

All the 4Ks i tried had massive input lag, the pixel density is so disappoint tho
>>
>>55169980
I was mostly referring to the job thing.

a 24" screen at 2' away will look about the same size as a 43" screen at 4' away.
>>
>>55169301
I'm using a 49" 3840x2160 display. It's not terrible, but I use an IPS for color grading.
>>
>>55169301
>43 inch 1080p
You must be completely blind.
>>
I've bought a 40" 1080p TV for €270 last week.

I fell in love.
>>

Those pixels must be as thick as your thumb.

This is a board where people brag about font rendering. Holy shit.
>>
>>55169301
>awful dpi
>fake 1080p
>shitty response times

this is why i use a monitor t᠎bh

I bought a 24" IPS monitor for $220 NZD a week ago.

The difference is heaven and earth compared to my old 15" laptop TN panel.

A friend of mine used to use a cheap 32" HDTV as a computer monitor, and thought he was a real badass because it was bigger than everyone else's 24" monitors, but the thing looked like total ass, terrible contrast, poor brightness and really visible backlight bleed and ghosting.

The douchebag brought it to LANs all the time, which was a total pain in the ass to fit on the tables with everyone else.
