What software do you use? Is Adobe stuff really worth pirating? Have you done any big video projects? Are you a good editor at putting together a professional looking piece? I think this is a really good discussion topic to have on 4chan as I'm sure most people are terrible at putting together good looking videos.

I have a question to start the thread. I want to make a parody video that looks like a Sega CD quality FMV. How can I take good looking 1080p footage and make it look like this:

Kdenlive is incredible, use it everyday

Adobe Premiere and yes it's worth pirating along with Sony Vegas. Sony Vegas is much more user friendly.

For something like that you will want to crop the footage, play with some saturation/hue filters and tinker with quality preset of the footage (probably looking at like half quality to get it blocky like t hat).

Really? I feel as though premiere is more user friendly. This is coming from someone who learned with final cut
>>

Looks like they're finally going to release a Windows version of it soon(ish). I'm looking forward to trying it then.

I have been meaning to, at least, get a hold of Sony Vegas. Blender kinda works, but it's so clunky and could really use more features and for some reason every video I've been exporting from it and attempt to put on youtube turns out corrupted. The video will work on my own computer, but then it becomes unwatchable becoming filled with green artifacts when Youtube transcodes it to their format.

I do appreciate the help on making the Sega CD-quality video.

Do you know if the newest versions of Adobe's video software work on OS X 10.5 Leopard? I have a 10.5 hackintosh disc still laying around that I know is compatible with one of my old machines.
>>
>>55165928
I don't think so. Why not upgrade from Leopard to El Capitan on you hackintosh?

What software works to edit and produce webms?

so far i think no editing program does the later

Do all of those, yeah. Can't be arsed to convert to webm after whatever format's comes out of the editor
>>
>>55167179

Openshot.

I think I"m slightly better than average.

Try playing with color filters, then lower the bitrate and frame rate down till it looks like that.

why not just use the ones on youtube

If we are talking professional editing than you should be using Adobe Premiere with a creative cloud account. You should probably use a mac, and if you are using a mac you should be using the mac pro.

DESU I don't care if you don't use a mac, if it works for you it works for me. Only requirement is premiere with creative cloud account.

>Premiere & a Mac Pro are entertainment industry standard

For "hobby" stuff, use whatever the fuck your comfy with.

Serious question, why do you need a mac? As far as I know Adobe shit works exactly the same way on both platforms, with the exception of really minor shit like being able to natively search the menus or preview some files. 4-6K displays where you can display pixel accurate footage are overkill, and really fucking unnecessary, even for professional work.

Unless you're using Mac-exclusive software, there's literally no reason to. And Adobe Premiere is not Mac-exclusive.

Most digital film cameras will shoot in at least 4K. You really need to it too. Remember, this footage will be displayed on a giant screen if its a theatrical production. In addition, film cameras pick up every little detail. This effect is enhanced when blown up on the big screen.

>>55168353

Thunderbolt. You need to transfer a ton of data very quickly, and thunderbolt is fast as fuck.

Keep in mind this is for professional productions.

I think Premiere Pro is pretty easy to use
