It's a decent job with decent career progression. Either in actual software companies. For example testing healthcare equipment. Also in more relaxed environments such as general user software like videogames or apps.
You can later on learn some scripting and perhaps become an engineer for more cash.

Testing is there to test your shit code so it works. Stop wasting everyone's time and write something decent.

QA can be the same. If the app goes live and there's crashes people will blame you for not finding it. If however there are no issues they give you no recognition.
