False. I download all my latest TV shows from there. I guess if you listen to obscure hipster bullshit or watch avant-garde art films a private tracker is better but I've never struggled to find any normal shit there.
>>
Is there a good (as in better than TPB/KAT) public tracker/indexer for high quality films and TV? By "high quality", I mean "encoded at BR transparent bitrates (or nearly so) by people with the slightest clue what they're doing".
>>
>>55154702
Rarbg. Their dmca process is extremely involved so nothing gets removed there

As a musician and a music enthusiast, I've been able to find everything I wanted mainly on rutracker, soulseek and other public trackers. I like listening to ''weird'' music (jazz, jazz fusion, prog, etc.) and rutracker has never let me down. What are the advantages of using a private torrent tracker?

I thought you meant the whole thing, not just the sites. It'd be pointless, your IP would still be visible on the swarm.

Yes, basically. You almost never see (: used anywhere. I've seen it before, sure, but not for at least five years, maybe longer. Perhaps because I don't hang out on the same cabbage-infested sites that you do. Regardless, it's a visual oddity and "trips" your eyeballs as you read.

It's a needless annoyance--much like your existence--that you're clearly perpetuating because you have this innate desire to be different.

You have a weak soul.

Considering how is it to get into what.cd and the majority of all other private trackers, what's the point? It's borderline impossible for most people I think. I'm sure I would find something interesting, but I'm not at all sure that I could actually sign up and use it.

What.cd is one of the easiest to get into. Just pass an interview and don't live in a shit country.

In fact most other private trackers are far harder to gain entrance as they require you to get an invite from a member or through official recruitment threads on other private trackers. What.cd at least gives public interviews for entrance. That's far more than most private trackers.

The Pirate Bay "dies" a couple times every year with government takedowns and server seizures. They never stay dead, though. Remember the phoenix logo? and the hydra logo? One head cut off, two more take it's place....

That being said, private trackers are much better as far as content, speed and safety goes. No infected swarms to worry about.
>>
>>55159329

if you want to beg to join a honeypot

>>55154075
Trick question, it never was alive
>>
>>55159345
What would the movie or music industry care? The ones in private trackers are the ones who are never going to purchasing their content anyway and further they've made it inaccessible for the vast majority of people on the Internet.

Most private trackers are under 20,000 members, and plenty under 10,000 members. These are small fish when compared to TPB or KAT. And those are much easier targets and the users are FAR less tech inclined.

Not to mention the majority of private tracker users aren't ripping blurays or TV shows (though plenty still are), so for those who just download and seed they're extremely safe. They're already off industry radar because they're part of a very small private group and they arent the ones actually providing the source content.
>>
>>55159345
Every time someone gets a DMCA notice is from downloading something off of a public tracker

>>55159791
>Download speed 0.5 % of Vuze download speed
this isn't true btw
>>
>>55159832
>this isn't true btw

You are right.

It's now 50mbit/second vs 50kbit/second, which is just 0.1 %.

I've downlaoded the move in Vuze while in Deluge it's not even past 5 % while Deluge had nearly an hour head start.
>>
>>55159870
You're just too retarded to configure it appropriately.

Deluge is actually considered the best client for the initial seed period of a torrent because it lies to other peers saying you have more chunks than you actually do, this gives you a faster download than is optimal for the swarm (but fuck the swarm it's all about you)so others are potentially getting a slower download because of you.

However for long term seeding rtorrent is the standard client of choice.
>>
>>55156459
no new content on kat cause dmca, use rarbg
>>
>>55159870
You're probably downloading peerless torrents.
>>
>>55154738
RARBG is all you have basically. It gets scene releases I'm guessing, but you're not gonna find the type of quality that private trackers have for blu-ray encodes. And if you do good luck with it not being DMCA'd or unseeded.
>>
>>55159791
Are you the guy who was looking for the "best version of Vuze"? Seriously man, there's something wrong with your computer. Plus there are dozens of other clients you can try.
