what the fuck are you doing, get a 480 instead

No, thanks.

Don't expect to run any new games to run on high at 1080p. You'd be fucking yourself real good..
>>55148417
are you retarded? The RX 480 blows the 960 out of the water. Are your parents siblings, by any chance?
>>55148417
>480
>$400
Not sure we're talking about the same 480 here, you mean a used GTX 480, right?
>>55148444
AMDrones falling back to ad hominem because they have NO BENCHMARKS to back their RIDICULOUS CLAIMS!!!!
>>55148483
He can use ad hominem all he wants, he rolled trips.
how does it always turn into amd vs nvidia

>Don't expect to run any new games to run on high at 1080p.
I'm not, i'm selling my shitty Xbone and thought might as well use that money to buy a newer card for my old pc, and since my monitor is not 1080p, the 950 Strix seemed like a good deal.
>>55148382
yes.
get a 470 in 2 weeks instead. 2x the performance at least and same cost.
>>55148582
Eh, the graphics with that system will be marginally better than an Xboner. But if that's what you'd rather have, go for it man.
>>55148582
buy a new monitor instead. you will not regret it.
>>55148651
Last time I checked, a quality monitor is a lot more than a GTX 950.
>>55148668
a good 1080p monitor is like 150$ nowadays.

>>55148709
may i remind you you were just talking about buying a 950 and an i3 2100? i wouldnt be suprised if you were still using a crt monitor.
>>55148730
I'm not the OP though, a 1440p is a much better buy over a 950, much more longevity and functionality.
>>55148618
Thing is, i don't think they'll be selling those where i live, at least not for some time, and when they do come, it'll probably still be more expansive than the 950
>>55148651
Nah, if i really wanted a higher res I could just move my TV a bit and use it as a monitor, but i'm pretty comfortable with what i'm using right now.
Anyway, thanks for the help faggots, i think i'll go with the 950.
