Sup' guys.

Imma buy a brand new PC but i'm still hesitating on motherboard but i know much about it. On what criteria should i choose, how can i know this one is better than the other...

I torn between an Asus Z170-pro and an Asus ROG - MAXIMUS VIII HERO.

(If you have other suggestion, shoot).

Just for you to know, i'll buy a 2k screen (or 2, still don't know), an Nvidia gtx1080, 16Gb RAM, 800W Power supply unit and a I5 6600K (or I7 6700 but i'm not sure an I7 is quite useful for gaming...)

Help me, /g/, you're my only hope.

What you are saying is that you are going to spend 300$ on a gay man motherboard, and then save money on the CPU? Bad idea, senpai. Buy an Ultra Durable branded Z170 motherboard from Gigabyte and then buy the i7. Motherboards barely make a difference, whereas other hardware does.

I was in the same situation as yourself. Ended up going for the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7. Yes, it looks like shit, but it seemed to have the best components for the money.

Fortunately, you can disconnect LEDs.
