How bad is norton exactly?

It's pretty god damn awful. Years ago in the 90s, it was the go-to antivirus, but now it's just bloated garbage.

Having nothing is better than norton. So that bad.
As long as you're careful and not dumb about what you DL you'll most likely be fine with the Microsoft's Windows Defender AV program. Malwarebytes for the specific malware though, but competence tends to be the best anti-virus.

Last I remember it took over your computer and infused itself into the operating system while slowing the OS down significantly.
