I need some opinions on this. Does this say 2015 or 2016 in blue ink for the manufacture date. If it says 2016, then I need a refund and I will warn ANYONE against buying cooler master fans. I JUST bought these and all 4 of them make some kind of grinding, ticking or popping noises. It's not normal and it's driving me nuts.

If they say 2015 however, then fuck it I'll peel them open and reapply oil in the well. Hopefully that fixes it completely so i don't have to RMA anything.

That's a 6. 5s have a straight bit, unlike you.

I guess it was just wishful thinking that these fans were sitting for over a year and the oil dried up. Nope instead they're just garbage.

Fuck why does the 200mm segment of PC fans have to suck so fucking bad.
>>
>>55118321
From the thumbnail, I thought 2015, but seeing it full size I'm positive it says 2016. The way the top of the 5/6 is curved I think guarantees that it's a 6.

200mm fans are just marketing. Buy high-quality 120mm fans.

It's a 6. Why are you buying garbage fans in 2016 when the whole internet is full of suppliers ready to sell you non-shitty fans?
>>
>>55118418
Tell me another 200mm fan that doesn't use shit bearings and I will buy it.

> 200mm fans are just marketing

That's why these cool my entire chassis down by over 6*C and, when i don't have a shitty batch like these (replacing 5 year old identical model fans) they make virtually no noise besides the minimal whirring of air and motor.

200mm fans have awful static pressure.

Antec Big Boy 200
>>55118587
200mm fans can move a lot of air with little noise at low rpm, but I don't think static pressure matters as much if he's not trying to mount it directly on a huge ass radiator.
>>
>>55118672
It matters in any situation where a fan encounters obstruction (all situations).
>>
>>55118495
buy some 120mm pwm delta pulls from shitty P4 era dells and be done with it.

Cooler Master has always had memeworthy fans. But they made the 212 EVO so we forgive them.
>>
>>55118961
The 212 evo is mediocre at best, even considering its relatively low price.
>>
>>55118414
you mean high quality 140mm fans.
>>
>>55118587

I'm mounting it in my chassis as intake and exhaust for ambient air. It's not going over a rad. And I have no dust filters. I clean my comp out thoroughly every single month. Static pressure doesn't matter. What does is keeping operation volume down and airflow constant.

>>55118672
I thought about that one but it looks like the setup wouldn't work right on my case.

The good news is I just did a test repair on the noisiest fan. The ticking sound is gone. Going to go ahead and perform the same job on all 3 of the remaining fans and hopefully the problem disappears on all of them.

Also managed to silence my aging PSU fan. Poor old BFG Tech EX-1200. Thing is a beast and still powers my system almost 7 years after first buying it.

Now if only I can figure out a better way to isolate fan vibrations from my metal chassis I think I'd be completely satisfied.

You thought wrong. To a certain extent, static pressure is more important than overall airflow.

You literally have to spend four times as much to get anything that works significantly better in real world situations.

Um no, the Seidon 120V goes toe to toe with the DH-15 and you can get the version with the new Silencio fan for £38.15 on amazon.co.uk

It performs better than the DH-15
which is £68.74

Hyper 212 EVO is £28.57

Where did you buy them? Are you sure you didn't buy counterfeit fans from china?

Wait that's a 200mm fan?

Mine works without any problems, had it for 5 years :^)
