8GB 480 could be ~300€ in Europe

HAHAHAHAH 199 DOLLARS MY ASS YOU FUCKING INDIAN SHIT
>>
Yes?
Nvidia cards will also be 1/3 more expensive
It's fucking europe
>>
>>55104875

A cucked continent in every sense.

>HAHAHAHAHAHA
This is funny? Weep for your condition, you idiot.
>>
>>55104875
So?
The 1070 are 500€ in Europe.
You'll probably be able to buy the cheapest RX 480 cards for around 250€.
>>
$199 = 176€
176€ + 20% tax = 211€

Everything above that is just greed by the companies

>>55104881
>>55104895
>It's ok for AMD to cuck us if Nvidia does it too

Also the indian fuck was showing benches of the 8GB card while saying the card will be $199, but really meaning only the gimped-to-4GB version.
>>
>>55104913
You are talking like they ship it from USA to Europe, while in Reality the the USA and EU cards all come from the same place in China...
>>
>>55104927
>$199 = 176€
>176€ + 20% tax = 211€
>Everything above that is just greed by the companies
You also have to factor in shipping cost and the markup from the retailers.
>>
>>55104944
That doesn't make sens though. How come people will be able to buy that card for 199 in the USA? They also have shipping costs and retailers.

Also cards like the 970 when released had pretty much the same price in euro as it was in dollar. Meaning we basically just got the tax on top of the US price. But for some reason Nvidia and AMD are trying to fuck us harder now...
>>
>>55104927
This was expected by everyone. You would be delusional if you think you'd get the low prices without the sellers filling their pockets. It was always like this. Yeah I hoped the 8gb version to be 280€ but who cares about the 20 shekels. Although I'm fine with our system at least we don't have to pay the student loans for a decade. Not to start about health care etc.
>>
>>55104964
Don't worry about it, man. You can just watch Ahmed and Kwame plow your wife for entertainment instead. No graphics card required.

>>
>>55104964
Running a business in Europe is more expensive. Energy is more expensive, employees are more expensive, higher minimum wage, etc.
>>
>>55104997
The 730GT is 81€ on that site which makes the calculation in OP's image wrong.

You can see that by comparing the price of a single GTX 1080 with the price of two GTX 1080 in SLI.
>>
>>55105032
If you compare 1070 SLI to a single 1070 it comes out at 61€
If you compare 480 CF to a single 480 it comes out at 51€
If you compare 970 SLI to a single 970 it comes out at 191€

Basically inferring retail prices from prebuilt machine configurations options is bullshit
>>
>>55104964
Just so you know it wont actually cost 199 here in america, most likely it will be 219. I know this because 380s were 20 dollars more expensive then there msrp
>>

companies actually pay taxes in the EU (well unless they go through Ireland) which makes the markup bigger

Markup may be slighlty higher than in US, but I doubt all the retailers would be so greedy. The reason for the retarded prices is the fact that companies use shit USD - € conversion rates.

All the aingle card prices there are slightly lower than actual retail prices, which gives a good estimate of the real 480 price.
>>

And 300 yuros is bad? Because my guess is the 8gb 480 will cost ~400 dollarydoos, which is an excellent price, considering the 970 is still going for around $450
>>
Let me get this straight.
This are the prices in Europe (taking into account recent slashes on the last generation of nvidia cards:

>RX 470
200€
>GTX 970
250€
>RX 480 4GB
250€
>RX 480 8GB
300€
>GTX 980
350€
>GTX 980ti
450€
>GTX 1070
500€
>GTX 1080
800€

Seems like the RX 480 is at a very good price point.
Also, the new low price of the GTX 980ti might steal some buys from the 1070.

Similarly, the UK price, unfortunately, usually works like this:
>take USD$ price
>it's that in GBP£

So your $249 part would probably be about £249. Plus 20% VAT on top, of course.

Considering how much stronger the £ is than the $ - often between 1.5$-2.0$ to the £ - you can see why we call it "rip-off Britain", as that often works out at a 50% markup or more.
>>
>>55106250

>>
>>55104964
Your European funny money isn't worth as much as you think it is. The buying power of greenbacks in the states is greater than conversion rates would suggest. Y'all pay more for most things.
>>
I'm expecting 250€ for the 4GB version, and I'm still fine with it because the 970 is still 299€ here.
>>
>>55105208
The 8gb model is $230, retard.
>>
>>55106331
I'd assume the 1070 FE are going for about 500 Euro over there?
>>
>>55106429
Exactly 499€.

So if we were to compare, how much do you think the RX 480 4GB will cost?
>>
>>55106447
The RX 480 will cost about half as much as the GTX 1070 in every country.
>>
>>55106447
FE goes for $450 USD (without tax).
$450 USD is 400 EU.

499/400 = 25% increase (vat)

Reference 4GB RX480 goes for $200, or 180 EU.

180 + 25% = 225 EU.

8GB Aftermarket might go for 300 USD. That 270 EU. + 25% = 337 EU.

I fet free money from the state so i buy this card with it.

Am I the only one here getting a 480 after deciding month after month that I would go over to the nvidia side?

I mean I never had an amazing experience with AMD but the price is still fucking unbeatable and no way I'm going to grab a 970 at this point
>>
>>55106746
Anyone who prioritizes performance/price will most always choose AMD.

This 480 might be using an average of just 100w according to some rumor. So makes it even better. Its not going to be the HIGH end card, but its got a punch for its price.
>>
>>55106779
Even 150w would save me from the hell that is the 280x I own

>>55106746
>I'm going to grab a 970 at this point
Nah 970 is dead. Rumor is there will a be 1060Ti around 300 bucks with half cores of 1080 enabled, which could be roughly 980 performance
>>
>>55106779
It's the performance/price winner right now as well actually, but if your aim is 4K 144fps, yeah, you're better off waiting for the 490 or going with dual non-ref 1080s.
>>
>>55106826
evidence?
>>
>>55106844
In my case for instance I think I would be alright. I'm using a 21:9 monitor at 2560x1080 and I play some games at 1080p anyways due to the lack of support for that aspect ratio. I think a 480 would suffice.

>1060 ti rumor before 1060 itself

>>
>>55106746
I've only ever been with nvidia. On windows, they're pretty shit, lots of drivers that caused BSODs (not anymore though, now they just crash the display and restart, which is much better but still shit), not to mention the few bricking-drivers (which I haven't been affected by however). On GNU, they're also pretty shit with lots of drivers that I had to downgrade due to massive performance regressions at times.

Hardware-wise, though, can't really complain.

What was your experience with AMD like?

>>55106870
Well, with AMD I only had two "serious" GPUs (as in GPUs that I bought to play games) which were the 6850HD and the 280X.

With the 6850HD it was kinda alright until 2013 in which driver releases kept being shitty. On linux, I had power management problems until radeon dynamic power management was introduced (which also made my 120hz monitor by that time behave poorly). BSODs I had few, but it was always a waiting game for drivers because every new set was worse than the previous.

The 280X is not that bad in terms of drivers, it still does relatively ok with Crimson releases. Still falls very short on some current unoptimized releases. On linux I experience stuttering with certain DEs and I have to enable DRI3 to make it bearable. On Hackintosh which I also tried, I also have a bit of a laggy desktop and it goes crazy without vsync.

Frankly my experience with both has been a bit different, with linux support being shit as the common thing, and I wanted to go with nvidia due to this OS switching I'm doing. But if the 480 comes out for 250 euros here it's still fairly affordable and I've been looking for something just a bit better and of course newer.
>>
