Get the fuck out you fucking tech illiterate womyn. Grow some balls and install it on the metal.
>>
>>55103717
I think practicing the install in a VM is a smart thing to do.

Keep in mind though, once you install it on your actual machine, you will have to make sure you get the proper drivers for your hardware, otherwise nothing will work.
>>
>>55103765
I didn't have to do shit with my drivers. Running MSI GE72 Apache 2QC

Good job bro, use tmux for tty and virtual terminals.
Install Gentoo nomultilib or uclibc (uclibc is better)

Are you trolling? Why the fuck would you use nomultilib

Intel hardware working perfect with GNU/Linux.
Also if you want to reduce compilation time just use Clang as compiler

BSD, GNU/Linux switched to pure 64-bit software.

and what's your point? wayland was supposed to be ready two years ago and it's still a buggy piece of shit and every major DE is broken/has bugs when used with it. pure 64bit linux is only good if all you do is shitpost and watch anime

Tons of native steam games are 32bit.
Running without multilib is retarded if you plan on actually using the install as your desktop.

De-le-te this.
Or create a pure 64 bit fork for Wayland on Vulkan.
At least recompile it with -m64 -O2 flags, end fix errors in compiller by fixing source code.

LFS is very good manual and expirience for solving almost all problems.
>>
>>55104211
it's very easy, make & mount gentoo partition in LFS, get ready for chroot & chroot and then simply follow the gentoo install guide. You should be able to re-use your LFS kernel config file to save time. finally just install the gentoo kernel to your LFS boot partition and add an entry to the boot loader (grub2 for BIOS, refind for EFI).
>>
when installing gentoo you actually learn about linux whereas installing Arch doesnt really teach you much because they do not go in depth and explain shit

refind is vastly superior if you have multiple OS installed

>>
>>55104273
Nooo.
But just for start it's normal.
Configure kernel yourself, it's easy, default config is almost finished.
Just type
lspci -k
lsmod
In your live cd
And add in kernel related modules.
Monolite kernel uses only 5-6 MB memory.
Genkernel 5-6MB + 30mb initramfs

Freeciv and Tux-racer 64 is all I need.

Hey, Dr.Dmitriy or someanon. Two stupid questions here.

When I was trying to setup the hostname, I accidentally put a apostrophe on it and space it(two words). Even when finishing up and not realizing it before. So I just forced a new hostname(one word) to the kernel instead.
>is it okay to do this instead of the conf.d file

I'm a lazy gentoo user, it sounds like a bad thing but I haven't setup the WM yet. Due to Wayland being on my mind while X is right across the corner ready to be emerged.

Just installed Gentoo for the first time last night, It's cool and all but darn, I think I've been waiting hours for it to finish installing Xorg.
Whats the point in 2016 when everything is pre-compiled?
