ITT: we build a PC close to 300$ to outmatch the new XBOX One
>>55063492
>>55063596
picked up a 128GB SSD even though the new XBOX One has a 2TB hard drive it's definitely a shitty 5400RPM HD and let's be honest: file compression is a thing on pcs and you don't have spaces wasted with bloatware while also being able to add another SSD anytime you want.

GG OP, you did it
>a simple build spanning across three images
Get a real fucking computer, chum.

You do realize that I'm talking about a PC right? Where you're not only storing the OS + game files/saves + other stuff you're also storing documents, images and video that could just be compressed to save storage (the best option would be to buy that 128gb ssd to install some programs take take longer to load and the OS itself and leave another SSD or even a laptop HD (since that case probably can't fit a desktop HD) and use that as storage for everything else.
>>55064290
So why does your build not include another SSD or laptop HD? As it stands, you are implying that the storage in the Xbox One can be compressed down to 128 GB, and that's just idiotic.
>>55064324
As usual, a prime example of the lackluster reading comprehension of the average /g/ user.
The title even says: a build close to 300$ if I get anything else I won't stay closer to my goal.
Anyone can do just fine with ~100GB of storage nowadays and nothing's is preventing you from installing another SSD/HD after some time.
>>55063492
Any modern AMD multicore with APU can outperform a fucking 720p shitbucket.
Get real
>300 bucks
Haha yeah no. It's gonna be like 600usd and 1900 aus usd, 900 euros, 1.7 ruskies.
>>55064324
Read my post again and you will see that I never wrote anything about compressing the entire hard drive (although making it so that every file that exists or is created in a partition gets compressed is completely plausible (but that's not the goal here).
>implying you need $300 to outperform 720p 30fps

>Anyone can do just fine with ~100GB of storage nowadays
What the fuck are you dumb plebians doing? Fucking morons acting like it's the 90s.
>>55064426
Don't blame it on others, you fucking mong. Anyone can also do just fine with intel graphics in a 2500k, but that wouldn't be a build that would outmatch the Xbox One.
>>55064512
They are absolutely not going to deliver what they are now promising for the XBOX One slim (1080 gaming and 4K video)because we had before, for instance, Dead rising 3 at 14-26 FPS. The xbox one slim will probably play games at almost 1080p @ 30fps while having problems in less optimized games.
What I'm trying to show here is not a build that solely relies on an APU but something that goes even further with decent dedicated graphics for < 100$

Poorfag here I have a 126GB notebook hard drive that I got from my friend in 2009 where I store everything and compress my videos that I firstly convert to 480p webm video
Running Arch on a pentium 3 + 2 GB of used RAM I bought on ebay.
I run a script that converts any image/video to webm
